Winter has passed, taking with it the hope of peace. The state of Wei deploy an increasing number of cultivators and soldiers, intent on taking over the state of Shen. Caught in between the armies is Wu Ying's village and all those that he cares about.

Advised to keep away from the approaching war, Wu Ying will have to decide what is more important - his journey to immortality or the ties to the mortal that he holds onto still. Or perhaps, there is a third way, one that balances both the needs of Heaven and destiny and the karmic ties of the family.

Good continuation of the story. Entirely too many authors notes. The story tends to drag a bit and the conflict seems unnecessary at times. Still looking forward to the next.

so this book is a bit slow beyond that I dont have much in the way of issues with it.
given the author notes at the end I am very excited for the 4th book and the future of are main character. I hope he develops a bit faster now......just not to fast.

great book if a bit slow

Tao did a fabulous job writing this! Having to grow, realize your past isn't your present, and being willing to move on mentally and emotionally is huge and he depicts it so well!

Travis is my favorite narrator, and he as always was amazing reading this!

Fabulous!!

Like most stories in this genre it has too much YA drama, but an ok listen. Narrator is good.

Decent story,

The reading is alright, but sometimes I don't quite like the readers exaggerated voice. That's just my opinion though. Still very good 👍.

The high stakes battles.
