Top tier as always

Definitely without a doubt the best cultivation story. Absolutely, crazy how much the characters have grown and overall the story progression. Tao Wong thank you do much for this addition to a great story. Travis thank you as always for bringing the story to life with this expert narration and performance.

Much less action and more politics

This was a good book, however it definitely had way more political machinations and scheming than the previous books. There was a lot less emphasis on combat and Wu Ying developing his skills

Another great episode of a story I hope will never end!

As always these stories are amazingly written, full of inventive detail and delights.

I’m not sure about the ending. Now I have to wait to find out what happens to Wu Ying and Yang Moo. Curses!

Vivid as ever, the seamless blend of intense battles and reflective moments captivated me from beginning to end. Tao Wong masterfully delves into themes of perseverance and personal growth, making this a standout entry in the series.

Criticism often comes from mismatched expectations. This book excels in depth and nuance…let new readers judge its brilliance for themselves.

Where has this been all series?

Half of it was a slog I won't lie (like most of the series) but the middle and on was what I've been hoping the series would be the whole time. this has been the best book without a doubt. it does feel like it's being prolonged though...

One thing that sort of hurts to say

The story and performance is top notch.

Being blind, with extremely sensative ears...

The sibilance is way too harsh. Every "s" sound is like a sword in my ears twisting.

If need be, please de-ess a bit.

Otherwise,, for now I smother the device with materials that absorb much of the high frequencies just to enjoy the story.

For good references as to what good mixes sound like, three come to mind.

The movie, "eyes wide shut" and the video game "metal gear solid 4".

Or the youtube channel TBS NEWS.

All three are fantastic examples of sibilance control.

Now onto the story.

Yo! Who would have thought that would happen?

What makes it all worse is the fact that DCC was a tease to what this genre is about.

And I loved the humor.

I seem to be saying this a lot these days; a middle book in a series that gets locked into a singular storyline. It’s done well but I miss the rest of the story lines that make the series so enjoyable. Hope to see more in the next one!
