Publisher's Summary

Lauren Harper wanted four things.

Respect. Success. Happiness. And to annihilate Roman Pierce.

Sure, he was a smooth, smart and sexy attorney who made the senior partners at their law firm cream their pants. But he was also an annoying cocky jerk who she'd been competing with since they had both been hired over a year ago.

And Lauren didn't care how amazing his smile was or how hot his body was underneath that suit - the firm-sponsored fun run had a lot to answer for - he was a ruthless, ambitious prick who would stop at nothing to climb the corporate ladder. He'd even climb over her given half the chance. Sadly, she'd probably enjoy that. No. That wasn't what she was supposed to be thinking. She did not want him climbing over or under her, or doing anything else to her. He was the enemy. Destroying him was the only option.

Wiping that smug, beautiful grin off his gorgeous, obnoxious face, a bonus.

Now, if she could just keep her objective in check and obliterate him before he did the same to her.

Sex first, questions later...

This seemed to be the main plot now, sex first, questions later. Verbal abuse is just awful to any romance genre, unless the heroine has backbones, then it is acceptable. This h just loved that and sex was in her mind most of the story. If you like heroine who loved verbal abused and deception and no backbones, this one is for you! Grace Grant was great as always.

Amazing Banter!

Roman Pierce is a lawyer and a damn good one. His adversary is Lauren Harper. These two are not necessarily a yin yang type of thing, more like pit bull and terrier going at each other. They give as good as they get and then some. It’s what keeps them on their toes in their job and fires them up that then spills out in their personal life.

Roman is Eric’s brother, and he has taken a different surname so his famous family aren’t intertwined with his work life. He keeps his family very private as they are all extremely close. Lauren has a elder sister whom she lives with and their bond will stand strong, even in a court of law!

I enjoyed this book, and the fact I did it with audio made it so much better. I loved their banter, their chemistry and their antics. The storyline was authentic and I loved how Lauren stood her ground after the family wedding. She didn’t cave and held her head high. Roman was a jerk, but his apology was heartfelt and I loved him all the more for it. I am loving working my way through this series.

THE HERO IS AN @SS!

Roman was an @ss throughout the whole story.

I don’t care how afraid you might be about something, or where your head is at, that doesn’t excuse the verbal abuse, and doesn’t give you the right to lash out at somebody else with such hateful and hurtful words.

The heroine takes the abuse over and over again, and even by the end, the Happily Ever After was not that enjoyable for me.

I did like the narration.

Yep, another RNH

Romance novel harpy. We cannot possibly be strong, confident and successful women without being a psycho. The narrator irritates the crap out of me. Way, WAY TO MUCH E-NUN-C-ATION.

good

Finally a decent H/h in this series the whole way from start to finish. It only took 3 books from this author !!!!! Although Romam did act like a dumb little girl for a minute, but he regrouped and found his brain he was sitting on. Good strong independent couple that are likeable. The narrator did a good job .

The Perfect Rivalry

Roman.... what can I say... I was secretly excited for his story.
I shouldn’t like this hard, cocky, smart mouthed man but I knew he had to be fun to spar with and T Gephart did not disappoint. Two lawyers, Roman and Lauren, held nothing back with their banter. Both being unrelenting and ruthless to the other and it just made this such an enjoyable ride.

Added bonus is the little things like how they live in the same world as Hot in the City Series like Gino’s ❤️!

I felt it was a tad different than the prior two books but all in a good way. Different as in a little more serious but still loads of humor with the heart melting moments along with the small heartbreak.
Each story is unique in its own so I was not bored and I am extremely anxious to pick up the next book.

Again another winner in my book!

Read the book and listened to the audiobook together for added benefits and love both together and separate.

I thought the h was ivy league educated

I realize not everyone is quick with a comeback but I also thought she was ivy league educated. So all the verbal sparing is not really in line with that. She doesn't act like someone who passed the bar and is being groomed for a position in the law firm. She seems super petulant and the H is kind if a douche. He was in the first book where we get introduced to him as well. The way he talked to his brothers gf. ☹

Seriously, why do people demean themselves and participate in the childishness. Like I tell my children. JUST IGNORE HIM. When she argues back it just encourages him. And why does their boss allow it. Childishness has no place at work.

The h inner monologue is boring and tedious. I hate him, but look at his butt, I hate him but oh he smells good, I hate him but please touch me because I have no personality and no self respect.

It also makes me sad how the author kinda disparages women who give up their career to focus on their family. Or even think families are less important than their career goals. As she did in the previous book. Not every mom is overwhelmed and a mess at home. And this h is a freaking shark and her more calm loving family is kind of put down subtly but still noticeably.

I'm sad to say all 3 books so far have been underwhelming but I listen while I'm working so dont really have time to look for other books.

The writing is juvenile, meaning there are much better writers out there who write like mature adults. These books seem like they're written by someone with not much life experience. Honestly it wouldnt shock me if she described a character as twirling their hair while blowing bubbles and they just happened to graduate ivy league.

We'll see if I even have any desire to finish the series. Would I like these books better if it was dual narration and we got the H POV? Or are they kinda sucky because of the narrator and I would actually like the books? Or would I still be wasting my time if I just read them because the books really are underwhelming? I'm not gonna lie, besides listening to the first two books of this series I have only read one other book by the author, Viral, which I really enjoyed. But I read it, not listened. So so far not high hopes for this particular author.

I loved the banter in this book

A good enemy to lovers' office romance.

The audio is fast-paced, the narrator really brings the characters' words and feelings to life, she's very quick with her words short and snappy and a good representation of how I presume Lauren is being a lawyer.

A highly entertaining read full of banter and I can't wait to get stuck into more in this series in either audio or to read on my kindle.

A good office romance with a hea. Told in first person pov
