Let me wanting more

Never listened to a book from this author and it will not disappoint! I was hooked with the preview and now I want more

Needed more depth

Very slow story. The ending didn't feel like an ending. The story had switched between multiple characters but only ended with the main with no updates on the others. The narrator made for somewhat hard listening. Her cadence and pauses were off compared to normal speech. All male characters had the same monotone speech. Wish the main the character would have had more of her opinion and didn't just blindly follow her husband the whole story. Overall just Ok. Easy listen as there's not much depth to any of it.

The story

It seemed unfinished. It was easy to figure out very early on. The ending wasn’t much of a surprise although it felt unfinished.

Great read

Very suspenseful. Interesting characters, couldn't put it down. Look forward to reading more from this author and narrator.

Redundant and long winded

Honestly the interactions between the characters were so longwinded and redundant. Jillian and Tucker had the exact same conversation in every chapter…..the book could have probably been half the length it was. There were so many times where the author was over descriptive and you just wanted her to get to the point. Also Jillian was a complete airhead and ended up being annoying. The story could have been so good but feel flat with the redundancies and unlikeable characters. Missing the thrilling pieces in the plot that keep you wanting more. A struggle to finish.

Definitely had potential to be a 5*. The naivety of the FMC and the ending made me bump it down just a little. Still a great read though!

Predictable easy listen if you don’t listen too hard

Predictable, but easy listening.
Discusses a really horrible topic (sex trafficking) without being graphic.
The protagonist having her “revelations” at the end was as eye-rolling as it was satisfying. All I could think was “Finally. Thank the gods.”
The biggest fiction in the story is the dog behavior. I just had to pretend I was reading a fantasy novel that took place in another similar universe

Great listen

Really enjoyed this book. Multi person story line but still easy to follow. The story line was very interesting.

Not much.

The characters were shallow and the wording was often redundant. The ending left much to be desired. Maybe this is the beginning of a bad series?
