Chef AJ is also a person who has dedicated her life to teaching others about healthy foods and how to navigate ED and live a healthy long life with amazing nutrient dense foods. If you are a person who has ever struggled with an Eating Disorder and/or are simply having significant health issues and really need help and guidance... please give this book a try. It took me a while to read this book. I thought about it for many years and then recently it came up as the perfect time to read it and I am so thankful. Another book you might love is "How Not to Diet".

Some people might not need a book like this but many do. If you are searching for answers that you might not have been given yet, then this might be it for you. Every person is unique so this may come at the perfect time for those who really need it. This book has changed my life and I am so thankful. No, it's not just "fast and you'll be fine" as some reviewer said. (Not sure where those negative comments are coming from?)

It's really so much more than a simple idea about health... it's detailed information that will take you to a better understand of how to navigate a tricky eating world. Keep in mind some people have super serious life threatening diseases and have been given no other hope - Imagine if they are fat, sick, tired, and nearly not here anymore. What if they have been given no hope? Then this book can be for that person. It's about knowing what your body needs and thrives on. Some people aren't open to help until they are sick and really in need. Any time is a good time to start making changes described in this book; now is a great time to start!

Because SAD diet is really not cutting it for people; this book gives gentle ideas to guide you to a new way of thinking. It's a great book with lots of interesting facts around history and science. Have you ever eaten and felt like you're not satiated for no reason at all? This book addresses that too. It talks about triggers and the brain and how the wiring of humans work and how this all effects our health as a whole.

I liked the book overall and I think it’s an important and interesting question to examine but I noticed a lot of environmental determinism and misuse of cultural ecology theories and just generally outdated/out of touch with theories and research in the human environment relationship and our collective human history and evolution. Recommend the book but caution to take the interpretations and evidence they use with a grain of salt as these authors are using anthropological and arch theory and research but are clearly not in touch or experts in these core debates and intellectual history.

Did not like this book…. Too technical; not sure what the point was except water fasting. Leans heavily toward evolution, not creation. Chef AJ did a great job with narration, but would not recommend.

This book had some good information but was very repetitive. The analogies were juvenile and ridiculously long. That coupled with the narrator sounding as if she were reading a children’s book made this a difficult listen.
