The first book was good, the second got better, and now in the third book it's moved to 'so engrossing I don't want to put it down'.

The story is fun but WARNING!

If you are a younger male who thinks that Randidly is cool be aware that this is a work of fiction. Randidly is suffering from a lot of mental health issues and wrapping them up like this is how “men” are. Not only does he have a poor ability to self-regulate but the number of times a scene with a female character made me cringe so hard my wife asked if I was going to vomit, is literally 4. In real life Randidly is the forever alone type the dosent understand that he can’t get a partner because he dosent know that women are full blown people.

Great book!

My only complaint it just feels like a long story. I'm not sure how many books this will be. Just keep up the suspense and I'm sure a long ride can be an enjoyable one.

Overall pretty good

As I said, overall pretty good. I only have 3 negatives. The first is how frequent they say ALL of his BS amount of skills. The second is just how out of no where there are all these sub-plots exploding around. The third is how this book discarded all the characters from the first two and now it discarded the current set.
Only bad part is the wait for the maybe sequel.

Still enjoying the series

I’ve been going back and forth on whether to read this series for a long while now. It comes up in many LITRPG lists so that was a big plus but I read a lot of reviews and there are many reviews that made it seems I would not like the books. What to do…what to do… So I finally bought the first three books through various audible deals and then started to read them when I ran out of books to read. I figured the real problem reviews don’t appear until books 4 and 5. I’ve now read through book 4 and have enjoyed every one of them.

Sometimes I worry about the main character because of the manipulation going on throughout and from many sides. But that just means that I can understand and relate to Randidly, so that’s a good thing. He’s not stupid and sometimes you have to wait for awhile to figure out why he’s doing something until he figures it out himself. Just like any other good character. Yes the book does have many little scenes from other characters but I think it just adds depth to the overall series. I don’t hate any of the characters enough that I have to skip their viewpoints. Some I just feel sorry for because they go down bad paths because they blame others for their lacks and they can’t seem to pull themselves back to a better place. But isn’t that the way people are?

I am now going to take a chance and buy Book 5. I expect I will like it just fine!

Still got it

3 books in and the plot progression isn’t slowing and character arcs are moving along well. It’s easy to read and hard to stop. I can’t wait to read what’s next!

Engrossing

I purchased the first book on a whim, and am now completely wrapped up in the exploits of the Ghosthound.
