Great Narration

I can be picky about audiobooks, and start many without finishing. This was A+++ it is fascinating medieval historical fiction, which tracks true historical events. The narrator is as so good, I enjoyed every minute. Highly recommend.

Fantastic!

Don’t listen to the negative reviews about this one. The Chivalry series is fantastic from start to finish. Non-stop action and character development that traverses all the books. Christian Cameron is among the best historical fiction writers hands down.

Tremendous story overcomes average reader

This is the beginning of the saga of William Gold - English man at arms, mercenary, knight and student of the ways of the chivalrous life. I think this author is one of the best at historical fiction today and highly recommend this along with all of hus historical novels. They follow actual events well, get the reader attached to the main characters and create a storyline that’s difficult to stop listening to once you start.

Great voice acting - great story

What a cool find. Great book and great story. The voice actor did an awesome job as well.

good but hard to follow at times

a little difficult to follow at times and I did a lot of rewinding, but the ending was great and the narrator did a really good job. I'll probably buy the next book in the series

an enthralling narrative and a voice actor who makes it seem a lived experience are the best combination in a audio book!

Awesome Action Packed Adventure

William Gold, son of a man at arms who was killed when William was just a child, was sent, along with his sister, to live with an uncle after their mother died.
The uncle was a goldsmith and was supposed to be teaching William the craft, but what he actually did was beat William and try to rape his sister. William reacted violently and was arrested and tried for thievery. He was supposed to be branded but a church official took pity on him and his sister. William was sent to fight the French and his sister entered a convent.
And so began the exciting journey to knighthood and glory for William Gold.
This book is fascinating, not only for the artfully drawn details of the daily lives of those living in the age of chivalry but for the details of battle, the ideas plumbed by those details. How an accident of birth can render a person a prince or a pauper and how an accident can elevate or dash a person’s life.

Now this is what I'm talking about

10/10 would recommend, great voice actor, great story. You can tell the author is greatly educated and passionate.

The story is outstanding and narration does it justice

This much like my favorite audiobook the white company tells of Knights of England in France and Italy. The white company tells of a squire arising from a good family. If you enjoy this book that book is absolutely your next read. This book starts with a troublesome lad from a hard family. Well told great story great middle great ending if you enjoy this topic at all, this is a great read.
