Love this Book series

A excellent addition To a already great book series

This book spends more than 3 years of the main characters life almost all of the book is spent in between 1368 and 1372 you don’t get a whole lot in 1381 A little bit at the beginning and a little bit at the end but not much so the story doesn’t progress in the in the present and I’ll takes place in the past

Although I do believe more is going on in the present then you’re led to believe at this time

So if you’re paying attention We’ve got nine years left of story until we catch up to the present day so that’s probably at least three more books before we catch up to the present I would guess

Keeps Getting Better!

This last installment was Cameron’s strongest in this series. That’s saying quite a bit, because each book in this series has been strong. For anyone interested in the 100 years war period, this series is for you. My only critique: I would’ve loved if the series started around the time of Crecy (instead, the first big 100-years-war battle this series picks up on is Poitiers). However, I imagine Cameron knows what he’s doing, and started the action around Poitiers (timeline wise) because he wants to take us further into the future than a Crecy start would’ve allowed. In this book, it’s mentioned that the Crecy veterans are kinda old and bedraggled, so it may be too much to ask (suspension of disbelief wise), if William Gold, the Crecy veteran, was still fighting in whatever future battles Cameron has planned for him. So, it’s not really a criticism. Just me, for a minute, pretending I know better than the author. But after thing Kim it through, realizing Cameron has things we’ll in hand. Honestly, I can’t recommend this series enough. Enjoy!

Excellent historical fiction

Three dimensional characters, not the caricature found in many historical fiction books. I hope the series continues.

Excellent !

This book is exceptional even to the exceptional series. I cannot conceive of how one could weave such an amazing story. This is all paired with the perfect narrator. I look forward to the conclusion of the series with the next book. I also dread the conclusion. Luckily, due to an over adventurous early life, I sustained some brain damage that affects my memory. Therefore, I can read the entire series again for the “first” time down the road in a few years.

This has become my favorite series.

This book(book 5) in the Chivalry series is probably my favorite entry so far. Heavy on the adventure and self discovery, but I'm going to talk about the series as a whole. I'll freely admit, it's not the best series of all time. Not as action packed, not as profound as some other books, but this one resonates with me like no other. Starting at book 1, you have a kid with talent, with little to no guidance in a hostile world and he learns the hard way. Add in plate armor and historical events and you have the basic premise. A very flawed hero with a true north moral compass, he learns hard lessons and always ends up finding ways to cope and persevere. Whether it be throwing himself into his work, having people rely on him or simply being propped up by his friends. There are so many subtle lessons here, told in a compelling way. I can see this series not being for everybody, tons of French names, Turkish names, names English speakers will have a hard time with, but I implore you to plow through. These books have helped me through hard times and if you can get through the tidal wave of information being thrown at you, they're more than worth it.

A Well Spun Tale

This book is a very good continuation of the fictionalized life of William Gold. I look forward to the next.
