The author masters the art of putting the reader in the place of the character, and the character into his places(s). The honest look at concepts of chivalry, romance and historical context is refreshing in historical fiction.
The reading is next to none in audio books often the reader can make or break the book. this is case of the reader making the book come to life.

Always exciting and historically accurate.. I haven’t been able to put it down. I have been so attached to William Gold and his adventures. I plan to listen to all of the series.

As a French speaker (but not an Old French scholar) the narrator’s pronunciation of French names (Emilie, Chrétien) is somewhat grating.
