Solid Psychological Thriller with Room for More

Like It Never Was delivers an amazing storyline that keeps you intrigued and guessing, making it a strong choice for fans of psychological thrillers. The plot is compelling, with twists that draw you in and keep the pages turning.

That said, while the story is engaging, it feels like it’s missing a little extra spark to elevate it to greatness—perhaps more character depth or a stronger emotional punch. Even so, it’s a good read overall and worth picking up if you enjoy thrillers with a solid foundation.

A satisfying 3.5 stars!

This might have been a better book than audiobook

Look. I will read 1,000 pages of it it’s good, and I will hardly ever bail. I wanted to pull the rip cord on this MULTIPLE times. Jolene’s story arc took soooooooo long to get to the point. Twist at the end isn’t even that twisty. I’d hit fast forward 30 seconds 3-4 times when dragging — was always the same seen and action. regret taking it up, but did manage to finish it.

Twists and turns galore

Just when you think you know, you don't. Kept me guess until the very end. Characters could have had more depth but the story makes up where character and world details lacked. I had to take a break from listening with one hour left and couldn't wait to get back to it the next morning to come back to it. That last hour will keep your head spinning!

Awesome - never saw it coming!!!

Worth every single minute- just a great listen!probably will listen 2 times! Just that big of a hook. & I coveted a karman Ghia.

It was fine.

I saw this on a couple Tik Tok pages saying it was phenomenal. It was an easy listen and entertaining, but nothing overly exciting.

Not worth all the hype.

I heard great things about this book, I was disappointed from the beginning kept listening and felt the same when it ended.

Eerie vibes!

I listened to this one on audio. I enjoyed the narrator and I love thrillers on audio. It was an easy listen and parts were intense.

With that said, I wasn’t impressed. I have read some great thriller/mystery books recently, and this one came up short for me. The last 50 pages or so the story really picked up. The twist at the end was good too. Some of it I did see coming, which isn’t normally something I can do when reading this genre. 😆

I give props to Faith Gardner for the mental health rep. Kudos to that!

This wasn’t a super memorable book, and I read it for book club this month. I have so many questions and opinions and I’m excited to chat about them with others!

Just a story of a depressed young girl…

I wanted to like this book so bad, but she wore a gorilla suit!? I think the story line was terrible. Dnf

Don’t waste your credits

I saw quite a few reviews all in favor of this book so I was excited going in. What a let down! It’s basic, the writing is mid, the twist is meh, the “voice” is so dumb that it’s funny. 👎
