amazing

Wow! The sequel is just as amazing and I enjoyed every bit of the story. The amazing world building is expanded and there are many moving pieces that also had just as many unexpected surprises. The character development continues as they each grow and learn. It's a wonderful read with a lot of emotions that really moved me. I can't wait for the next book!

Engaging

I just need questions answered, so close but the answer seems so far away. Just need the history how did we get here?!

Good story

Good story, not great. I felt like it was slow paced and I kept getting bored. I’m still invested in the story to listen to the next book.

I love a good victory read.. it’s like you knew they would pull through no matter what and I love that..

Struggling with the narration choices

My brain goes crazy when hearing two different voices for the same people. It makes it really hard to pay attention and make a connection. It’s a better experience when the same person voices the same character no matter the POV - esp when the POV switches up so much. I read the physical book and listened to certain parts of the audiobook. The performances were great, but the narration strategy is just difficult.

Storyline is coming together

This was a decent read, but had all the predictability of a toddler book. The antagonist could have been dealt with 5+ times and yet, predictably slipped away to continue his storyline in future books. There are so many angles the author could have taken to extend the storyline without that 1 antagonist while building out the main characters.

Not great, but worth the listen

This book had all the makings of a great story and was ruined by some easy outs and unrealistic decisions. Some of the scenes felt redundant like they were just being repeated with minor alterations throughout the story to keep it moving. The characters were well developed, and the relationships genuine, but it missed some “it” factor that would have put it on par with other better series.

The love story

Loved listening to the love story happening between the Divine and her mate. I also liked how everything ends up tying together, especially in the end. The last chapter explains most everything and makes you want start the next book right away.

Good potential but the narrator was too boring

I wished the narrators had more emotions other than detestation they both made the story emotionless and sickly or boring and dead.
The story it self had really good potential maybe I should have read it instead of listening to an audiobook.

Super frustrating

I was really excited for the second book, but I feel like the entire plot was just lost. The MC’s are skeletons of their character of the first book. All of their character strength just went flying out the window. The constant whiplash of Arianna’s I’m not strong enough whining just made me want to quit reading, but I’m no quitter so I just got mad the longer I read. It may have not been so frustrating if the villainous plot wasn’t given away right at their arrival and the fact they just constantly let themselves be manipulated with no plan from the beginning, just constant wishing they never went. There wasn’t anything there to keep you on the edge.
