took me 30 mins to think of this headline

I can't stop. I was almost late for work for the first time in YEARS because I didn't want to pause it and go in. Obsessed. this will be one of the few series that I can read over and over and over..... I will put it on my list of books and music to play to me on repeat when I am in a nursing home and can't remember to do it myself. just... planning ahead😅

I love the story!!

I am hooked on the storyline... I can't wait to listen to the next book! The story is dark and on the edge of your seat, but keeps you enticed and wanting more. The characters even as broken as they are represents that even through the ashes of hell, Empowerment is the key to uplift to the light.

10 stars my favorite series so far

This is the darkest book in the series but what a intense journey… I felt my heart ripped so many times for this girl and had to stopped listening to put myself together… it was an intense ordeal but necessary to experience the victims POV.
Can’t wait for the final book…

Wish there was an ending

I wish we could’ve gotten a better ending for some closer for the characters but this serie was amazing i like how each book had a story for other characters

MY favorite in the series!!!

the shadow-man and lyla are perfect for each other! Ugh, I just love the possessive hero trope and he does it so well! I was on my toes the whole book. lyla deserves the world and more and it was truly something seeing how dainn gave her everything she’s ever wanted

Favorite couple in the series

Don't get me wrong, I love the other couples, but there is something about this specific dark romance that is my favorite. I would have to say my favorite couples in order from most to least liked are in this order: Shadow Man & Lyla, Tristan & Morana, Dante & Amara, Alpha & Zephyr. However, I sometimes think that Tristan & Morana might even be tied for first in my favorites list.
Overall - 5 stars: I gave this 5 stars because it is my favorite book in the series. Only complaint on this end is that I wish it was a little longer. I just hope we can get more time with these characters in the last book.
Performance - 4 stars: I know it's hard for women to do men's character voices sometimes (& vice versa), but Heather Stonewall's voice for Shadow Man was just sort of... not how I imagined it and any longer scenes where she had to do dialogue with his character involved... I ended up reading it instead of listening, because it was distracting. I did like Gregory Salinas' narration throughout and I otherwise enjoyed Heather Stonewall's narration aside from what I stated above.
Story - 5 Stars: I gave this 5 stars because I am really happy with how the world is coming together; the twists and turns are always so interesting & satisfying; this couple is also my favorite - I love their story and personally found it the most spicy out of all of them. My one complaint is the scene where she was first poisoned and taken by the guys to lure him out ....what in the what was his method to get the poison "out of her system"....? girl this did not make sense. LOL but the rest I liked a lot. I cannot wait to read the last book! But I will also be sad to see them all go. Guess I'll just have to do a re-read.

I need the last book!!

I really loved this series. I got into every book and all the characters were so well developed. The narration of the annihilator was a little weird because the woman sounded like Catherine O'Hara in Schitt's Creek. I didn't realize there was a sixth, unpublished book. I was so disappointed to reach the end of the fifth book and still be on a cliffhanger. I hope it is released soon as it was expected to be released about a year ago!!

Obsessed MMC

This one I went back and forth on feelings about. I think this was my least favorite couple, but I enjoyed the story. I wanted Luna’s story and I like that it’s the Shadow Man that is obsessed with her and just so happens to be hated by Tristan and the others not knowing their ties. I loved that he looked out for her, but don’t feel like it was ever explained well why he couldn’t take her before he did. Only to show up when she wanted to off herself. Like you’re all powerful, why let it get that bad and go on for so long. I’m glad she got to take some of her power back, but I really wanted to see her heal more and just rage! She deserves so much. Their romance also was quite different being the situation she was in, so to me once they were actually together felt a bit weird and rushed. I just wanted to see them grow more. I’m hoping we get that in the last book.

I absolutely loved and lived for this book

This felt like reading the sinner all over again if Ellie and Luna had a trauma dump competition idk who would win seriously Dane the Man U are Dane the Man U are like omg plz dane plz i lowkey wanted to hear the reunion man like I would’ve cried my little ole heart out her seeing her son her brother finding everything out oh my heart wouldn’t be able to handle it 😭 god I love this series sm ❤️❤️❤️

Heather’s “accent” detracted from the story

Heather had this weird fake stilted “Southern” accent that was a weird hybrid of Bette Davis and Scarlett O’Hara. It was incredibly distracting.
