Flirty Wall Street romance

Good solid story with interesting characters. The author was a bit lax though at painting a picture of life as successful 29 somethings in New York City other than the briefest sketches of club life, the office, and Ian’s apartment. The story centers around an ambitious rags to riches young broker/player and an equally ambitious, dedicated SEC investigator. The book is the first of a trilogy about 3 friends that work for the same firm so there is plenty of interaction between the characters as their personalities are laid out. Ian’s childhood/teen years are barely discussed and even less so in terms of best friend Sabrina. The foster dad is mildly entertaining but his main purpose is to provide a key line/wake up call by way of analogy to Ian’s puzzle of how to move his relationship with Lara along. The mystery part is very predictable as is the romance and the story. The sex scenes are good but brief. Zachary Webber did a great job with narration was good but not a frequent as Samantha Cooke’s and hers was at times monotone and bored when in female character; her male voices were flat and indistinguishable. This is a stand-alone but the other 2 friends have their own stories. I hope the series ends up on the Romance Package or sale because this was not really worth a credit.

My first audios by this author... LOVED IT!

I bought this audio on an impulse! The blurb, the cover, the narrators... I felt I could take a chance and am so happy to say it's so well worth taking the plunge! I am a huge fan of Billionaire CEOs, but I enjoy stories of self discovery that are still angsty, sexy and well written. This audio delivers in spades! The narration is outstanding and I love the fact it continues as an interconnected series. I am definitely checking out more from Lauren Layne!

Great story and series. Thank you soo much for not dragging out him not believing her. That is so overdone and annoying. Great series definitely missing some exotic scenes but good.

LOVED IT!

This is first introduction to Laura Payne and am very impressed! I loved her story which has the elements that I appreciate.
I enjoyed the humorous rhetoric, the strong females, the twists and turns & of course the kind delicious guy.
The narrator's brought the story to life flawlessly.
I am looking with anticipation to listening to the rest of the series!

Slow start but definitely a great listen

So the beginning is a little bumpy, like ebbs and flows, but definitely worth it. A good soapy romance.

Cute story

Good story to listen to while I work. The MMC was a little bit too much of a womanizer for my taste but besides that I thought they somewhat had good chemistry.

Unique storyline

While the female narrator left a little to be desired I loved this story and the complexities of it! I am excited for the rest of the series and the wall street men ❤️
