Very interesting fighting scenes with a compelling narrative and voice actor. worth a good read.

Focus more on the present

First, I LOVE the story. I’ll get right to the point on what I have found to be bad. The exposition, too much exposition right in the middle of the action. Right when I’m enjoying the fight I’m taken right out of the action on this tangent explanation of exactly how this came to be. It’s totally jarring. Please
find ways to show us rather than tell us and when the action is going on, focus solely on that.

stop repeating concepts that have already been covered. Focus more on what’s happening now, then explaining and reexplaining. We also don’t need to know what other characters outside of the scene will think about something in a scene that has nothing to do with them. It takes away from the suspense of the tone that’s trying to be set in my opinion.


I loved the plot. It was amazing. The events and all the characters interact well with each other, even with the anime gag humor from time to time. I really wanted to give the story max stars because I loved the plot but there was just too much exposition.

I hope to see book three show us more scenes of Micheal and team preparing and not exposition about how they prepared right in the middle of the action. Show us them getting ready, making their equipment etc, and leave us to guess how they will utilize it. That’s my hope because this is a fantastic storyline that I want to know more about.

I’m a blind guy so I have a lot of time to listen to audiobooks I have around 500 the series is in my top five I can’t wait for book 3

Super cool book

This is one of the best books that I have read in a long time. I love the concept. It leads to the MC being intellectually OP because of his foreknowledge but in most other aspects he is under powered. This leads to plenty of conflict along the way. I’m glad that there was some more time spent focusing on the side characters. The narration was very well done.

I'm not great with reviews, but this was a great read. I very much enjoy listening and reading the stories by L.M. Kerr.

He is not the hero

Knowledge isn't everything. Is the Mc any different from the Shadow king. Is killing some one before they do something bad right. The league of villans will save the world.

Would recommend listening to this series. Exciting and good plot. Look forward to listening to the next book.
