The stakes are even higher in this epic, romantic conclusion to the New York Times bestselling Crimson Moth duology

A WITCH...

Rune Winters is on the run. Ever since the boy she loved, Gideon Sharpe, revealed who she was and delivered her into enemy hands, everyone wants her dead. If Rune hopes to survive, she must ally herself with the cruel and dangerous Cressida Roseblood, who’s planning to take back the Republic and reinstate a Reign of Witches—something Cressida needs Rune to accomplish.

A WITCH HUNTER...

Apparently it wasn’t enough for Rune to deceive Gideon; she’s now betrayed him by allying herself with the witch who made his life a living hell. Gideon won’t allow the Republic to fall to the witches and be plunged back into the nightmares of the past. In order to protect this new world he fought for, every last witch must die—especially Rune Winters.

AN IMPOSSIBLE CHOICE...

When Rune makes Gideon an offer he can’t refuse, the two must pair up to accomplish dangerous goals. The more they’re forced into each other’s company, the more Gideon realizes the feelings he had for Rune aren’t as dead and buried as he thought. Now he’s faced with a terrible choice: sacrifice the girl he loves to stop a monster taking back power, or let Rune live and watch the world he fought so hard for burn.

In Kristen Ciccarelli's Rebel Witch, the exciting conclusion to The Crimson Moth duology, love has never been so deadly.

Editorial Review

Corrupt witches and heartless witch hunters
Kristen Ciccarelli’s Heartless Hunter reeled me in for its creative world of blood-drawing witches and the delightful game of cat and mouse between secret witch Rune Winters and witch hunter Gideon Sharpe. In Rebel Witch, the conclusion to the Crimson Moth duology, the stakes are even higher and the games have turned into war. It’s hard to know which side you want to win—they all have issues—but what I do know is that I’m going to be having a great time listening to Grace Gray’s melodic narration as the trickery amps up and we find out which side Gideon and Rune are going to fight for. —Melissa B., Audible Editor

If I could give 6 stars, I would. This series was breathtaking. I require a 3rd book. Immediately.

Enemies from the start and lovers till the end.

After loving Heartless Hunter, I was so excited to continue the story—and Rebel Witch did not disappoint. While it carries forward everything that made the first book so enjoyable, this installment leans much more heavily into adventure, momentum, and constant twists and turns.

The pacing is fast and completely enthralling. The story rarely slows down, and I found myself fully absorbed, eager to see what would happen next. The increased sense of movement and plot made this a thrilling listen from start to finish.

That said, while the journey was incredibly satisfying, I did find myself wanting a bit more from the ending. It didn’t quite deliver the full payoff I was hoping for—but even so, it didn’t take away from how much I loved the book overall. It’s a great.

The audiobook narration was once again excellent, bringing nuance and emotion to the characters and elevating the experience. Maybe one of the more impressive single-narrator performances.

Overall, Rebel Witch is an exciting, high-energy follow-up to a series I already adore. Even with a slightly underwhelming ending, this was still an easy 5/5 and a must for anyone who loved the first book.

In a genre teeming with clever characters and plot twists aplenty, Kristen Ciccarelli’s Crimson Moth series doesn’t just hold its own—it soars. The final installment delivers an exquisite blend of masterful plot development, richly layered characters, and a love story that lingers in your heart long after the last page. If literary excellence came with medals, Ciccarelli would take home the gold. An absolutely stunning conclusion to a breathtaking series. Highly recommend! 🌶️🌶️

Way to get you emotionally invented in the characters and delivering story. I loved loved loved this duology it’s had the perfect balance between story and love. Not typically a YA reader but this one knocked it out of the park. Worth waiting a year for.
