Resumen del Editor

Psychology of Intelligence Analysis has been required reading for intelligence officers studying the art and science of intelligence analysis for decades. Richards Heuer, Jr. discusses in the audiobook how fundamental limitations in human mental processes can prompt people to jump to conclusions and employ other simplifying strategies that lead to predictably faulty judgments known as cognitive biases. These analytic mindsets cannot be avoided, but they can be overcome through the application of more structured and rigorous analytic techniques including the Analysis of Competing Hypotheses.

Psychology of Intelligence Analysis is expertly narrated by Scott R. Pollak.

Great, practical tools for all types of analysts.

The first few chapters are slow but once the 3 chapter started it kept me thinking and learning the rest if the book. Well worth it if you are any kind of analyst.

excellent book

much of the discussion is based on fallacies, biases and methods which are very much the same as scientific research methodologies.
it is great, but I wish he would rather tie research methodologies into the information analysis tasks, instead of using the information analysis the basis with its internal linguistics.

all over though, still an excellent book for learning critical thinking and assessing information in regards to biases, data used and methods used.

Valuable read

If you come from an intelligence background or not, this book is useful, especially those wishing to view themselves retrospectively or introspectively (first one and then the other); without the prevailing bias by which they may not know they are affected.

Good read for beginners

Some useful informations for newbies and people who are generally interested in critical analysis. Nowadays too many people adhere to their confirmation bias. In psychoanalysis trained people know that perhaps.

relevant but not exclusive to intelligence

It's a decent, if introductory, psychology text. Anyone with even a passing familiarity will have encountered the vast majority of this content in a freshman-level course. It relates to intelligence analysis, and any other form of analysis. As for the performance, I hope you like a slight whistling at every "s" sound and a voice that would put an adrenaline high to sleep. Overall, nothing terribly wrong with it and absolutely nothing special about it.

The author

The author spends too much time on self aggrandizing. I’m sure it has some nuggets of value but it’s not worth sifting.
