Freshly respawned.

Far from home.

All alone.

Up until now, Montana's journey really only went one direction: up. But now he's back at square one, stuck on top of a mountain with only the most basic gear to help get him back to Coggeshall. It's going to be a long walk.

But not a boring one.

In one of LitRPG's most legendary medieval fantasy road trips (and also possibly the only one), Montana encounters a pack of just-this-side-of-feral wolf people; a town straight out of the Wild West - complete with heavy-handed sheriff; a lion desperately trying to take down a colossal fish monster; ancient cursed ruins; and a giant flying frog.

Eastbound and Town is an epic story full of combat, loot, and achievements. You better believe Montana is loaded up and truckin' and gonna do what they say can't be done.

LitRPG means Literary Role Playing Game. Simply put, it’s the book version of watching someone play a video game, usually one that’s set up like an MMO (massively multiplayer online) RPG. It’s a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, depending on how it comes to be that our main character ends up living inside a virtual reality. the point of LitRPG is not how we get there, but that we get to be in this virtual reality period, living life as a badass video-game character. Beat the grind and submerse yourself in these addictive LitRPGs.

alright so let's get this out of the way its a little less action packed then the other books but dam is it still good. I mean I glad to see some more town building and see the growth of the community. the next book seems like will be lots of new things coming and can't wait.

over to soon

Look forward to the rest of the series. Can't wait for the two main characters to come together from the other series!

Great Series

This book is a massive improvement in the plots and actions of characters in this series that had frustrated me. This installment is a great example of a series getting a shrug and 'it's decent enough' developing into 'hey, there's a lot to enjoy and love here and it's worth it'. I started with The Bad Guys and am glad I restarted this one knowing how fun this world can

Big improvement and growth

I passed up this series many times because the cover artwork did nothing to draw me in. The reviews however, did. Based on the reviews I decided to give it a chance and I'm happy I did because I LOVE this series! That being said, I just want to say that while I love Fritz, I do not love the landshark or the flying frog. Both did nothing to add to the story and were awkward and odd.
And enough of the prinkies already!
Other than that, the series continues to be one of my favorites. I really like that there has been no love interest. The main character and storyline are strong enough not need one. Well done!

A good installment in the series. Some flaws.

love these books, causal cussing that actually adds to the humor! Characters are funny heart warming and kick ass.

Going to listen to series again!

Good times all around, as per usual with these series.
Humor, weird friends, maneuvers of the gods, vague notions of what Montana will be facing in the future if he could just grasp what he feels is the right direction.

Definitely worth the listen.

Fantastic continuation of Montana's story

Although the story the characters and narrator are excellent I am constantly annoyed by lazy writing that forgets the supposed intelligence score and the constant interactions with gods and it just suddenly occurs to him .. so annoying.

annoying

I'm really enjoying the story, and I feel ok recommending the series, but I feel like each installment is half a book. It rankles a bit. Do with that information what you will.

Feels like half a book

So, everybody that's made it this far is pretty well Team Montana. So.. I still loved it, because I'd pay 20 bucks for Neil to narrate a 4 hour Christmas side story. Take my money.. But, It's no longer cute that side characters keep pointing out that Montana is just f*$&ING around, not leveling, not using his abilities, not experiencing character growth. And he no longer seems at all as strong as he should be. It just seems like the first books had so much progression and things mattered. The settlement itself doesn't seem to matter, Montana complains about people not liking them and goes off to do random disconnected things. The settlement is just a plot box to pull characters from rather than an actual place. It doesn't feel lived in or cared about. There's a huge emotional disconnect here.

Quit treading water.
