What a ride! I couldn’t get enough of the “My Wife” trope in this & it was interesting having the scene set in Las Vegas! The audiobook makes this book 1000000000x better bc you actually get to hear Colby’s accent and no amount of words I put in this review can accurately convey just how perfect his narration was. I also have to give it to Sienna’s narration as well- a winner was picked when assigning her role bc she executed her job flawlessly. Oh & Chapter 31 had me yelling “WHAT!?” in front of my coworkers today😂

The Bloke is Book 1 in the Men Under Revue series. This is Colby and Sienna's story. For two years Sienna has been trying to get into the Aurelia School of Dance only to be denied time and time again. When she tried a third time she fails again and decides to rebrand her identity. She moves to Las Vegas, the city that never sleeps. Enter Colby. He sweeps her off her feet and they spend one wild night together. One hookup and one huge mistake later their lives are changed forever.

Jacklyn is a new to me author. She started the book with lots of heat and it didn't disappoint at all. I loved how she explained the world of male Revue dancers. It's more complex than it's initially perceived as. The characters were flawed and they intrigued me right away. When Colby becomes a member of Male Under Revue he didn't know at the time the kind of involvement he needed to do would question his morals. I loved how overprotective and obsessed he was of Sienna. I adored Sienna. I loved seeing her character growth. In the past she was a people pleaser, but now living in Vegas she did what made her happy. I loved that she took the control back in her life.

As for the audiobook narration, it's amazing! Performed in duet by James Cassidy and Marie Hawkins. These two gave captivating performances. James is a new to me narrator. I love his voice!! He does a great Australian accent. It's so good! He was how I imagined Colby to sound like. James exuded Colby's confidence and brought out his obssessiveness for Sienna. Marie captured Sienna's softness in the beginning and when she moved to Vegas Marie's tone also changes. It's subtle, but she conveys Sienna with a fiercer tone. Together James and Marie brought the story and characters to life. The duet narration added more depth to the storytelling. I loved listening to every minute of it! Highly recommend!

This audio was just wow I have no words😮‍💨 the Aussie accent had me on my knees. Absolutely love loved their story and can’t wait to read more 😍

I did this one as an audiobook. James Cassidy as Colby was perfection. Marie Hawkins' delivery was perfect for Sienna. I absolutely love duet audiobooks and they worked perfectly together.

I am not usually a big fan of insta-love, but it absolutely works in this novel. I could feel the tension and draw Colby & Sienna had from the start. Colby was fierce, loyal, and possessive. Sienna's desire to find herself and happiness made her journey very enjoyable. The spice between these two 🥵

This is the first book in a series and book two releases next week! If you were a fan of Magic Mike, this series is for you.

This is my FIRST Australian accent book and HOLY F HELL! I couldn't help my giggles and girly freaking noises that i was making this entire book!

Colby is not only sex in a suit or lack thereof... but throw in an Australian accent and a possession "problem" if you call it that but also do anything to make you happy¡! Could there be a better guy??!! Sure, his employment was not what "normal" people would seem acceptable and maybe a bit bloody.

Sienna running away from a life that was never hers but living for others and others dreams. To be free and to who ever she wanted to be ... secrets 🙊 though may just ruin everything!!

One night of drunkenness and a life of possibilities...

Jacklyn Parker has out did herself with The Bloke. Hot steamy, all hands on from the start.

Colby is an aussie. He wanted to escape his family and start a better life. He could hardly make ends meet as a dancer. Until he got offered to join the MUR. He did not even blink an eye at having to do his task. He knows what he wants and will do anything to take it. He spotted his soon to be wife Sienna during his performance. From that moment on she was his.

Sienna a dancer that tried to live up to her family standards. She tried to get into top dance school and got turned down 3 times. She was never good enough for her family. She left that life behind and moved to Vegas.

The fire these to share from the start. She hated him at first. For no real reason. He fell first and hard. They both have secrets to tell. She hated him and still wanted to be under him. Can't blame the girl. I would have done the same. That's Vegas for you baby

This was an amazing Audio!!! I read the Bloke months ago but this was amazing. the narrators were amazing, the story came to life and I really loved it!!! it was hot

I really enjoyed this audiobook. The story had great pacing, a fun premise, and a good mix of both character development and plot. The narrators were excellent and captured the nature of both MCs.

This story was fantastic! I cannot rave enough about this book. I was not expecting to love this book as much as I did. I knew I would enjoy it but I was not expecting all the goodness in this book. The plot twist at the end. Holy cow. I was not expecting that at all. Talk about a shocker. The author did such a fantastic job of keeping you engaged in the story. She did not draw out situations that did not need to be drawn out. She did a fantastic job with the world building and the character development. You could not help but fall in love with both Sienna and Colby. Colby was hands down a fantastic morally grey character. He knew he wanted Sienna and he made sure she was his at all cost. They both had an instant connection. Now the love part of it took time to develop. Colby did not let Sienna slip through his fingers. He took what he wanted and made sure she knew that she belonged with him. Love would develop in time in his mind. Sienna fought her growing feelings for Colby but in the end love always wins. I really enjoyed it and I am secretly hoping Nick will find his match.

Narration Review:
WOW!!!!! I am truly blown away. I already loved The Bloke but the audiobook version kicked it into high gear! Like holy freaking hotness!!!! James was fanfreakingtastic!!! He didn't just narrate Colby, he is Colby! His Narration was everything and more. Let's just say you might need some new undies after listening to his spicy scenes! I officially have a new second favorite narrator. Go ahead and take all my money now. I need all his audiobooks. That's how incredible he is. Now let's talk about Marie. She brought our fiesty girl Sienna to life. I throughly enjoyed her narration. She has a way of making you want more. You don't want to stop listening to either one of these narrators. If the other books in this series end up as amazing as this book was, I'll be a happy camper. Seriously if you love audiobooks and have not given this series a chance yet this is your warning/invitation to buy it! You will not be disappointed at all.

This one starts off with a bang or should I say, a slash?

The Bloke throws you straight into the gritty heat of Las Vegas with Colby, a male entertainer pulled into a secret society where the cost of power is blood. Then comes Sienna running from a life of pressure and perfection. When these two collide, it’s intense, possessive, and full of push and pull. It’s dark, twisted, and full of chemistry that doesn’t quit. Colby falls first and hard but watching Sienna slowly give in makes the journey even more satisfying.

Now let’s talk about the audiobook, because it was phenomenal.
James Cassidy absolutely delivered this wasn’t just narration, it was full-blown performance. From every breath and growl to the tiniest detail, he brought Colby to life. I’d listen to him again in a heartbeat.

And Mari Hawkins? Top-tier, as always. She was Sienna fiery, strong, and full of attitude. Her voice brought depth and heart to the character in every scene.

Together, their duet narration made this story unforgettable. If you’re into dark romance audiobooks with immersive performances and a story that grips you from the start, The Bloke is a must.
