He’s very sweet

This man is very sweet. He is most definitely a “yes man” haha. He puts on a front for people but he really isn’t that scary. He does like to take control in certain situations if you catch my drift lol.

She will push his every button but also make sure that he’s taken care of. And once she finds out everything that happened, she forgives him. And they get the best revenge on his dad and so called friend! Oh and the ex wife haha!!

The storyline

This book got me out of my book slump. The storyline was different and I loved the characters.

The audiobook performance elevates everything. Joe Arden is Carter… cool confidence layered with quiet vulnerability, every line delivered with purpose and nuance. And CJ Bloom absolutely brings Lex to life, capturing both her sharp mind and her weary heart. Together, their duet narration makes this story feel lived-in and real.

A perfect balance of romance and plot, with characters you’ll root for and emotional beats that land beautifully. The Estate is a compelling start to a series I’ll definitely be following.

A great story

The story was wonderful and the way it was revealed, it kept me interested and when I had to stop for a while, I couldn't wait to get back to the book. There's a little bit of a mystery - about Carter's past, and about Lex's past and I liked a lot discovering everything. With a few small exceptions, the plot was very well structured. The book also has some very well written spice.

As much as I enjoyed the story, I liked the characters even more. Carter was the perfect combination of broody and dominant with loyal and emotional, and with his tough past and need to love and be loved - I liked him instantly. Joe Arden was incredible in this role. I love Joe's big emotional performances in the darker books, and I find it just as impressive when he gives the same power to his quieter and more measured performances, like this one. All of Carter's emotions - he made me feel everything,

Lex was also a very interesting character, and I liked that while she followed Carter's lead in the relationship and adjusted her time and expectations to match his, to me- she was the stronger one. CJ Bloom was fantastic. I especially liked the nuances she gave the different characters, and how she used her voice to make me love one character and passionately dislike another.

steamy & great narration

Lex & Carter meet at a bar and have a ONS. Next day Lex discovers she's been hired as Carter's Estate manager. They agree to keep things professional, but eventually become victims to forced proximity.

Narrated in duet. Joe Arden & CJ Bloom as narrators are perfection. Joe Arden had me sweating when he goes low, deep and vulnerable.
