Loved it!!

I LOVED it! Pretend for Me made me laugh so much but oh, it also hit me right in the feels and brought the tears. I loved the group chats and how much crap they gave Hudson. If you have not read Abyss, go read it and then come back for Pretend for Me. It will make the group chats that much better.

“She’s spontaneous, wild, and possibly a little unhinged.”

This book was one of my favorite reads of 2024, and hearing it brought to life in audio has made the story so much better.

In this story, we see how Dev, in order to fulfill his mom's dying wish, and as payment for her messing up his haircut, asks Piper to marry him. Piper and Dev's journey is filled with ridiculously hilarious moments, but it also has moments of self-discovery, acceptance, and heartbreak. And I must say, every single moment hit as hard, if not harder than before, even though I knew they were coming.

Kas Vadim and Stella Hunter did such a fantastic job with Dev and Piper. They had me laughing my ass off and crying my eyes out. And I gotta admit, I'm curious to know how many times Stella did the “Piper Parker picked a peck of preening peacocks.” line before getting it right, lol.

I laughed, I cried, I swooned! It was all the emotions! I loved dev and piper! Such a cute read! And the audiobook is duet narration which is always the best!

This book was hilarious!

I had no idea it was spinoff from the moms- I loved it’ I laughed hard through the entire book. So much so I had to stop
Listening last night because I was waking up the hubs. The sad parts made me cry but the funny banter overrode any tears!! I can’t wait for the next in the series.

Unconventional and hilarious!

In "Pretend For Me", the unconventional and hilarious story of Piper, an extroverted hairdresser with a penchant for quirky pets, and Dev, a no-nonsense billionaire CEO, unfolds in a whirlwind of misadventures and unexpected romance.

Piper, who juggles a commitment-phobia with her eccentric lifestyle (three hairless cats named Vajayjay, Snatch, and Beaver, plus a breeding experiment with her bunnies), finds herself in a sticky situation when Dev walks into her salon for a routine haircut. After taking a medicine for her migraine, she accidentally botches his hair, setting off a chain of events that leads to a strange proposal: a fake marriage to placate his terminally ill mother’s dying wish.

What follows is a series of hilarious, sometimes awkward moments as Piper and Dev navigate their unlikely "marriage," with Piper's humor and big heart slowly wearing down Dev's icy exterior. As the antics pile up, the two discover there's more at stake than just a fake union. Their relationship grows, forcing both of them to confront the possibility that the line between acting and real feelings may not be so clear after all.

This story is a perfect blend of humor, heart, and a touch of mayhem. It’s fast-paced and full of laugh-out-loud moments, with quirky characters you can’t help but root for. If you're looking for a fun read that will keep you guessing until the very end, "Pretend For Me" delivers just that. Whether their faux-marriage turns into a true love story or crashes and burns, you’ll be hooked all the way through.

Annoying FMC

I recently finished this book, and I have to say, my experience was quite a rollercoaster. The main female character (FMC) was incredibly difficult to endure; her personality was so annoying that it overshadowed much of the story. Even the male main character (MMC) seemed to struggle with his feelings for her, being drawn in mostly by her looks rather than any redeeming qualities. It felt like she annoyed herself, especially in the beginning, which made it hard to connect with her. However, there were a few redeeming traits, such as her love for cats and her loyalty as a friend. These aspects provided a glimmer of hope amidst the frustration. On a brighter note, the female narrator truly excelled in her role. Her fast-paced storytelling kept me engaged and made the overall reading experience more enjoyable, despite my issues with the FMC. If you can overlook an irritating protagonist, the narration alone might make this book worth a try.
