The only thing that would make this audiobook better, is if there was a male voice narrating for the MMC, instead of a woman narrating an octave lower than her natural tone. Otherwise, it’s worth the listen.

it's sad cults exists but this story was very intriguing. on to book 3. I binged this serious.

Ok started out kinda .. hmm , unsure? But as I kept going I got caught up in the story.. pretty intriguing.. kept on waiting for someone to burn the whole place down. I don’t like cliffhangers cause I get to anxious😩.. please please.. I need book 2

I waited a long time to read this one. I wasn't too sure about the premise. but boy was I wrong. just do it. it's amazing. and honestly... I can't believe the narrator voiced male and female voices that well. normally it annoys the terd outta me to hear some of the false male voices but she was great.

I found myself relating to Rex right off the bat but as the story went on I could see things from the side of the followers of Serendee with how they’ve been conditioned to put all their trust in one man and trust blindly. The story unfolds slowly as Imogen starts to see glimpses of the con man her leader is. Levi, Silas and Elon are good men who grow to love Imogen. Their “training” of Imogen involves lots of steam and sexy times while being caught in the trap of their leader as they begin to see his true motives. To keep Imogen safe from the precarious place she’s in with “the enlightened one” they have to keep one foot in and follow the rules. I thoroughly enjoyed this disturbing start to the series and can’t wait to listen to books 2 and 3! Lulu Larkin does an amazing job narrating but I wish there was a male voice for the men. However she does a good job distinguishing her voice for the males.

Considering this is set in a dystopian environment it was pretty realistic in my opinion
