Publisher's summary

Something old, something new, someone borrowed out of the blue...this is getting ridiculous.

It’s the wedding of the year in DC and the bride and groom have eloped. The father of the groom is a powerful senator who is set to announce his run for the presidency of the United States in front of all of the VIP guests and he’s not about to let a minor problem like a missing bride and groom ruin it. With a tempting offer of a fat check and a set of dream jobs, he asks Zoe to step in last minute and pretend to be the bride.

With her catering business teetering on the edge of devastation, Zoe can't afford to say no, even though her stand-in groom is the arrogant, pompous, and frustratingly attractive twin brother of the groom, Luke Whitfield. Ugh.

Zoe and Luke are trying to play newlywed happy, but they already look ready for a divorce. It’s hate at first sight, but as the night progresses through wild first dances, awkward kisses on full display, and a humiliating experience with the president, the pretend feelings start to get dangerously close to real.

Borrowed Bride is a laugh-out-loud, enemies-to-lovers, fake engagement/fake wedding, full-length stand-alone romantic comedy with a HEA. Perfect for fans of Christina Lauren, Ali Hazelwood, and Sally Thorne!

I laughed and laughed

I really enjoyed the crazy bunch of characters in this book. I laughed so hard that I put myself in quite a coughing spree. It was just a fun, crazy, embarrassing and wildly entertaining family full of disfunction and love. I love the HEA story, keep them coming.

Borrowed Bride

Borrowed Bride by Noah Hardy is a good, and enjoyable fake engagement enemies to lovers romantic comedy read. The story has a great entertaining world building story line. The characters are great, witty, humorous dialogue, and they have great chemistry. This story is a very entertaining funny emotional romantic comedy read. The audio was really great that made it very easy to get lost in the read. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Borrowed Bride!

This is such a fun and entertaining story with some real lough out load moments. The story is about Zoe, Luke and a fake to more. Zoe is catering a large wedding for the son of a senator who plans to announce his future plans at the event. Zoe is instrumental on the bride and groom fleeing and eloping. Now the grooms parents want her to stand up with Luke, the grooms twin brother, and walk down the isle in a fake marriage. The is so entertaining and bit unrealistic with very witty dialogue. I loved the insane ride. I actually listened to the story and thought the narrator did a good job brining the characters and their story to life.

It was beyond expectations!

I saw this as an ad on Facebook. Took a chance and listened to and LOVED IT. It does have one NSFW scene that I had to skip near the end but other than than it was great. What I liked about it that other reviews did not touch on was that the book actually has a little bit of depth to it. It is a cupcake comedy love story that is pretty formulaic and very funny but it also has a lot of undertones to it. I was a little disappointed it didn't go deeper but you never buy these books expecting them to. The fact it goes as much as it does was surprising and lovely.

Luke and Zoe

Loved it! At some points I could not prevent myself from laughing. The is a look into many families, and the complexities. Luke (badboy) and Carter (the good son) are identical twins. Carter is supposed to get married to Taliah in aa big splashy socialite wedding. Due to unforeseen actions and family pressure, Luke and Zoe end up married instead. Turns out Luke is a real sweetheart. I thoroughly enjoyed the story from start to finish. The story was well developed. The characters are relatable and definitely have their own personalities. I did not want the story to end! The narration was excellent! I received a free copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving my review.

A Quirky Delight

This was an utterly ridiculous story, in the best possible way. It was all so ridiculous and OTT and hilarious. I laughed a lot lot lot. The narration was really good, and the story was excellently written. I didn't honestly love Victoria; I get how we're supposed to perceive her as a sad, feeling abandoned little sister, but she was honestly just a bit bratty and unpleasant enough that I never quite warmed to her. Luke was a complicated delight, and Zoe was hilarious in so many inadvertent ways; but I loved how she stood up for herself and even though everyone was going along with this farce of a wedding, and that's what made it all feel so far out that there it would never ever work, I loved how the wedding certificate details solidified how the author was going to pull it all off and make it make sense. I'll definitely be looking for other titles by Noah Hardy.

A delightful frothy 24hr romp

A delightful, frothy 24-hour romp. This story was slightly over the top at times in the way the best romcoms are. I'd love to see it adapted for the screen. The narration was top notch. I'll look for other works that have been narrated by these two. I looked for other books by this author and was disappointed to find that there aren't any.

A Life-Changing 24 Hours

This novel takes place over the course of a long day and into the next morning, with a little bit of time spent showing what happened after these pivotal 24 hours. I like it when authors play with this concept of constricted, focused time, and this author did a great job of showing how the hero and heroine learned about themselves and each other and actually changed and grew in such a short space of time. I believe the whole fake marriage trope is more than a bit overdone in contemporary romance, but again, this author’s writing skill makes it enjoyable.

What forces this fake marriage? The hero's brother and his bride have decided to elope on their wedding day, his family having turned what should have been a romantic family event into a circus where the high-placed father-of-the-groom will announce his decision to run for the president of the United States. Dear old Dad already has things planned out and doesn't want to change the course of the day because of a little thing like the bride and groom going missing! So, through money and promises, he coerces his other son—the identical twin of the groom—to fake-marry the caterer, as no one outside of their immediate family truly knows what the bride looks like. Because of their meet-cute, the hero and heroine have an animosity towards each other that slowly changes during the course of the day as they get to know each other and see each other handle the nuttiness of their situation. The book has heartfelt moments as well as silly ones. I don't know if I'd go so far as to call this a romantic comedy because it wasn't THAT funny often enough. I also thought the heroine went a bit overboard at times throughout the book with her reactions, though the scene where she imbibed way too much too quickly was amusing, changing her into a very unreliable narrator as she conveyed her mixed-up thoughts and emotions. The book has some wonderful secondary characters, like the hero's sister, the flower girl (who’s very insightful for her age!), and one of the groom's grandmas who's not only got a spine but a better insight into the hero and heroine than they have of themselves at times. Despite the short time frame of this story, the author had growth arcs for both the hero and heroine as well as a believable romantic arc; some secondary characters also had little moments in the sun. That takes some skill to make happen in what is essentially just a day in the life of the core characters. A surprisingly fun and heartfelt romantic listen.
