Fixing Olivia is the first audiobook in Bay Sinclair’s BDSM-themed Fairford Affairs series. This series is built around an elite and exclusive BDSM resort called Fairford Manor, where invited guests spend a week with a dominant and basically have all their BDSM fantasies brought to life. A more-than-a little tipsy Olivia submits an application to Fairford Manor, never expecting for it to actually be accepted. In her application, she stated that she thought a stay at the Manor might be the only way to fix her. After reading her application, one of the doms, Aiden, is more than a little intrigued by her words and invites her to the Manor. Olivia’s only experience with BDSM is what she’s read in books, but she’s fascinated by the idea of it. Despite suffering a panic attack upon arriving (which Aiden coaxes her through), it turns out she’s a natural submissive. She and Aiden have an instant connection and in working with him, she finally feels seen. But after suffering a lifetime of debilitating verbal and occasional physical abuse by her family, Olivia’s self worth and confidence is extremely low. Aiden understands her pain and feels drawn to her in a way he’s never been with another submissive.

Their passion is also off the charts! Steamy doesn’t even begin to cover it. Both fall hard but are reluctant to risk their hearts. Their journey to love and healing is a deeply emotional one, and one I loved every moment of. The only drawback of the story for me was that it was written in third-person POV. For me personally, I have a harder time connecting with the characters and story in an audio format when the story is presented in this way. I will say, though, that this audiobook did mostly overcome this for me. And one of the reasons for that was the outstanding duet-style narration from Shiloh James and Hugo Locke. They both completely embodied their characters and did an excellent job of bringing this story to life, allowing the listener to experience this story’s heartfelt emotion and passion on a deeper level. There are also exclusive bonus chapters available for purchase on the Blue Nose Audio app. And believe me, you are not going to want to miss out on the hot and spicy content in those chapters!

Fixing Olivia is dark, decadent, and emotionally charged in a way that sneaks up on you. This was my first Bay Sinclair, and wow what a ride. It’s unapologetically spicy, drenched in power dynamics, and layered with vulnerability that gives the story real weight. Beneath the heat lies a surprisingly tender core about trust, control, and learning how to feel safe in someone else’s hands.

This is not light romance. It leans hard into BDSM themes and emotional damage, but it does so with care and intention. The spice is intense, but it never exists just for shock value, it’s part of the characters’ healing, their communication, and their connection. And when the emotional payoff hits? Worth every page.

The Story

Aiden built Fairford Manor with everything he had, but success hasn’t brought peace. When Olivia arrives at the gates in the middle of a panic attack, something about her breaks through his carefully controlled world. She’s fragile, guarded, and desperate to be fixed.

Olivia believes Aiden is the missing piece she’s been searching for the one place where she can finally feel safe. I went into this story blind and loved it. Bay Sinclair did an amazing job of mixing emotions, openness, spice, a glimpse of the Dom/Sub world, but also gave a few moments for the FMC and MMC to just be themselves.
Olivia applies to a BDSM Luxury Resort. She's always held an interest but due to her fear and anxiety, never pursued it. Aiden receives her application and believes she will be the perfect sub. They meet at the gate of the manor as Olivia has a panic attack. You immediately see how tentative Aiden is and continuously reminds her that he's there for her. Their story continues from there. They open up to one another, he brcomes protective of her, all while they explore Olivia's wants. You also get to meet some of the other Dom's along the way.
Shiloh James and Hugo Locke were perfect for this duet narration. Shiloh brought out Olivia's vulnerability and pain effortlessly, but also played well with her submissive side. She made Olivia seem like a normal, relatable woman in those few rare moments. Hugo was fantastic as Aiden. His voice was strong and dominate but shifted easily into the soft, protective nature of Aiden.
I'm looking forward to the next book in this series!

Narration:
I loved listening to this book! This was my first experience with Shiloh James and Hugo Locke, and the pairing was perfection. From Shiloh’s pleasantly sweet, emotionally open voice to Hugo’s dominantly present, grounded delivery, the balance between them was incredible. They did not just read the characters, they embodied them. I could truly feel the most intense moments, whether emotional or intimate, and that made the listening experience completely immersive!

The Book:
I loved Liv’s character growth. Watching her evolve felt natural, earned, and deeply satisfying. The doms were everything! Every single one of them was a hot dom in their own way, each distinct and memorable. My favorite part was how clearly and responsibly the author explained the dom sub lifestyle, especially the do’s and the don’ts, with real emphasis on the don’ts. I also appreciated how honestly the story addressed not being accepted by loved ones when you are open about being a dom or a sub. The author captured the good, the bad, and the ugly of the dom sub dynamic in the most beautiful way while still being hot asf. I finished this in one day. A must read for sure!

I am not usually a fan of BDSM and totally didn’t realize that a big part of this story revolves around a BDSM resort and at first I didn’t think I was going to like it but there was so much to the story that I ended up really enjoying it. Shiloh James and Hugo Locke both did an amazing job narrating and bringing Olivia and Aiden to life. Even if BDSM is not your thing I think this story is definitely worth a listen.
