Evil is rising. And time is running out.

Emmy Award winner Kerry Washington returns as Dr. Virginia Edwards in Audible’s heart-pounding supernatural thriller that pits faith against fear and pushes the fate of humankind to the edge.

The battle between good and evil continues as Virginia and her infant son Joshua flee from Detroit, pursued by the sinister Luther Bell (Giancarlo Esposito) and his Morning Stars cult. With her estranged husband Ryan and Moses (Dulé Hill), a devotee with a mysterious past, Virginia finds unlikely allies in Samson (Rhenzy Feliz) and Delilah (Ebony Obsidian). Together, they uncover the truth about Joshua's place in an ancient prophecy. Each perilous step of their journey is guided by Virginia's haunting visions while Bell's forces close in, threatening to tear their world apart. As natural disasters erupt, Virginia must embrace her role as both mother and chosen protector. But will it all be too late?

Giancarlo Esposito did a fantastic job as Morningstar, as did Dulé Hill as Moses and the other actors. I had a hard time getting through the second season with Kerry Washington’s acting. I realize it was a complex character but the oscillation between confident, then whiny as she was crying, then angry and overly dramatic, sounded more condescending valley girl or petulant teen. Possibly there was too much focus on this being like a radio show and she should have focused on just being in the character 😬

Interesting take on a historical story

as you know the originals are always better than the sequels... I guess with the fact that you're pulling out more biblical names and bringing up a season 2 where we wanted more this was great performance background editing the whole night one of the top tier of audible performances in storyline and script but it was kind of just a little hollow and we waited this long for a second season I definitely wasn't disappointed at all

a second season with more biblical names and story lines

Wish there was another season. The only thing that would be better would for it to be on TV.

A good listen
