Publisher's summary

A practical guide for creating nontraditional relationship agreements that work - from a certified sex therapist and relationships expert.

Love is eternal - but our concepts of relationships and marriage evolve to fit the times. In an age when we live longer, communicate differently, and value gender equality, is it any wonder so many people are looking for new ways to support lasting, loving partnerships? "Monogamy is no longer a simple concept," says Dr. Tammy Nelson. "More couples every year are experimenting with open relationships and newer, more flexible versions of commitment...yet few of us have been prepared with the skills we need to make those agreements work."

Open Monogamy is Dr. Nelson's guidebook for couples who wish to explore new directions in their relationships - to bring in excitement, variety, and fresh experiences without sacrificing trust, security, and respect. In this practical, skill-based book, she helps you find your place on the "monogamy continuum"; have honest conversations about attraction and desire; remove shame and suspicion from an open relationship; and create agreements - traditional or otherwise - that are fulfilling, exhilarating, and built for enduring love.

People, listen: THIS is the book you need

I've read a half a dozen books related to ethical non-monogamy and poly lifestyles, but this one hit all the right spots. The author even delves into what drives people into wanting what they want and provides relatable interviews with couples in various points in their relationships.

Overall great author and amazing read that went in depth where some other books seemed to just scratch the surface.

Good material

I was really looking forward to getting and hearing this book. This is the first time that I seriously thought about returning a book. The voice of the reader is almost mechanical at times, and so distracting, but the material is quite good.

Really good guide

Don't be discouraged if the narrator's voice sounds like a robot at first, after a few minutes it becomes normal and you start enyoing the audiobook's content. It is really good and get's you to think and try to work on your relationship and be more empathetic with your spouse or partner. I really recommend it if you're looking to understand more about a new type of Monogamy and undestand that you can constantly update your relationship agreements so you can live a happy and fulfilling life.

A clear and concise look at non-monogamy

One of the best books I’ve listened to on the subject. The author, while covering a lot of familiar ground, offers new insights and perspectives.
