Publisher's summary

Have you always struggled with procrastination, getting your tasks organized, or meeting deadlines?

Do you often find yourself feeling intensely restless and fidgety while spending long hours in the classroom or doing lengthy homework?

It’s time to stop blaming yourself for not feeling and behaving like others. The truth is, it’s not you—it’s ADHD or EFD. Those with ADHD, or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and EFD, or executive function deficit, are considered neurodivergent. This means that your brain works differently from what is considered typical. It also explains why the grueling challenges of adolescence—such as hormonal and physical changes, peer pressure, increasing academic expectations, and a highly digital environment—appear to be extremely magnified in your case.

Sadly, there is no cure for ADHD or EFD, but it doesn’t mean you are a hopeless case. There are plenty of ways to retrain your brain so you can manage your symptoms better, cope with daily struggles, and improve your quality of life. Find out exactly what happens inside your brain, so you’ll learn how to properly deal with your condition.

Once you’ve learned how to take control of your condition—instead of the other way around—you’ll know that all your hard work is worth it. And you’ll enjoy a healthy, productive, and successful life in the years to come.

If you want to rewire your brain to thrive—not just survive—in your adolescence, then you should listen to this audiobook right now.

Great Book - Tons of Information

We all get distracted and have trouble juggling things in today’s world. This book is geared specifically for teens with ADHD but the principles found in this book will help anyone!

The book is written in a way that I feel I’m having a conversation with and expert who is giving me so many tools to overcome the challenges of ADHD. I especially like the explanations of how the condition works in the brain and the discussion of the serotonin levels and how all of that ties together in this condition. The book is packed with tips from nutrition to dealing with distractions, all in an inviting way.

I now have all the tools I need to help my son with his ADHD so that he can manage this on his own as he grows into adulthood. I highly recommend!

What a great perspective on ADHD

This book is very informative and approaches the topic in a very relatable way. It explains precisely what those disorders are and strategies for dealing with and minimizing them. The book is written in a way that I feel I’m having a conversation with an expert who is giving me so many tools to overcome the challenges of ADHD. The author and the narrator speak with a compassionate and encouraging voice that clearly understands these difficulties and how they make teenagers feel: Goal Setting and Completion, each process with practical steps and things to consider. The author stresses the importance of self-care and stress management, often overlooked in traditional academic settings. The book provides a deep dive into ADHD and EFD, uncovering techniques for practicing mindfulness. This is easily understood by teens but is also very valuable for adults trying to help an ADHD child handle life's pressures and chaos in manageable ways. I recommend this.

Practical and information

Probably one of the most informative look into ADHD I’ve come across. The author has a lot of knowledge in the area and she goes into exquisite detail discussingit. ADHD is not just about lack of attention or hyperactivity, the brain operates very different for someone with ADHD, which affects their ability to process information, stay organized, remember, and a host of other functions and life skills, and this book goes into great detail.

Not only does it talk about ADHD and compare it to other disorders, it provides numerous solutions and ways to manage the different aspects of life affected by this condition. The solutions don’t center on medication, though still discuss it in great length and provides many options outside of the traditional ritilan and aderhal.

What I appreciated the most and what validates her expertise is the extremely thorough discussion on diet. People, please understand that diet has a big influence on your mental and emotional health. What you put in is what you get out. She gives powerful guidance on right things to put in and the bad things to leave out. If you follow only one recommendation, it should be this one.

Over all it’s one of the most complete resources on the topic, you will learn many things you already didn’t know, and it will be useful not just for teens but anyone at any stage in their life.
