• Good girl 'syndrome': Perfect bodies, sex & pleasure and using your voice
    May 15 2024

Is the inner good girl within you leading the way? In this episode, we look at what being a ‘good girl’ is and whether she’s running the show in 3 keys areas; in relation to your body, sex and pleasure and in using your voice. It’s a spicy one!

    Key takeaways from this episode:

    • Being unhappy and exhausted on this journey of needing the ‘ideal, perfect body’ highlights that its to fulfil societal/cultural expectations, but have you considered what you and your body actually wants or needs?
    • Pleasure isn’t just sexual, and there’s nothing to be ashamed of, for wanting to experience a deep sense pleasure and to have sexual desires
    • Your voice is so important as are your needs and feelings. What fears come up when you consider using your voice to share how you’re feeling in relationships?

  • Set some boundaries? (And nope this isn't your 'selfish era' babe) [Ep 8]
    May 8 2024

Setting and communicating boundaries aren’t selfish. This isn’t your ‘selfish era.’ This is you recognising that your wants, needs, energy levels and capacity matters just as much as anyone else’s. This episode explores boundaries and why they’re so important on your journey of thriving beyond people pleasing.

    Key takeaways from this episode:

    • Boundaries don’t have to be this binary ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ response. You can give a more rounded and full explanation
    • Boundaries can be so positive in helping people understand who you are in this moment, where you’re at and giving them an opportunity to meet you there
    • Setting boundaries really helps you start to see yourself

    May 1 2024

Through no fault of your own, you may just be on a hamster wheel of constantly needing to prove yourself. This episode explores how it’s become second nature to be in this state of proving and how doing this makes self & body acceptance challenging to really experience.

    Key takeaways from this episode:

    • The need to constantly prove yourself keeps you on a hamster wheel of exhaustion and fear
    • Self and body acceptance will be realised when you let go of the need to prove yourself
    • You’re valuable, worthy, capable and good enough already my love

  • Dare to disappoint: Making choices that feel true to you [Ep 6]
    Apr 24 2024

Does the fear of disappointing others keep you attached to people pleasing and perfectionism tendencies? This episode explores why disappointing people is key, if you want to make choices that feel true to you, as opposed to ones that just fulfil everyone else’s expectations.

    Key takeaways from this episode:

    • You’re not doing anything wrong when you disappoint people in your life and their reaction isn’t a sign you need to go against yourself.
    • Moving away from people pleasing and perfectionism will require disappointing people - as icky and conflicting as it will feel initially, your mind and body will eventually come into harmony the more you practice making choices that come from within.
    • The more willing you are to connect to you, your body, wants, needs and desires. the more likely disappointing others will happen. Anchoring into your intentions and why is key, especially when faced with their reactions.

  • Is external validation the main ingredient or the cherry ontop of the cake? [EP 5]
    Apr 17 2024

External validation isn’t a ‘bad’ thing, but is it keeping you attached to people pleasing behaviours? In this episode, I speak on the power of external validation and being affirmed by those around you, but also how being attached to people’s validations can be unhelpful, if you’re clinging onto what they say before understanding what you think and believe about something.

    Key takeaways from this episode:

    • External validation will always be based on someone else’s beliefs, views of the world and what they value.
    • Being attached to people’s validation may hinder you from evolving your opinions, ideas and creative practice
    • External validation gets to be cherry on top of the cake as opposed to a key part of the main ingredients.
    • Asking yourself what you value, think and believe about something before is an effective practice to detach from external validation

  • Is the 'perfect body' about pleasing others? [Ep 4]
    Apr 10 2024

If I said that your perfectionist and people pleasing tendencies have links to your relationship with your body, how does that land? In this episode I talk about the connection between these tendencies, how you’ve learnt to relate to your body and the notion of the ‘perfect body.’

    Key takeaways from this episode:

    • What you’ve learnt about what your body should like, doesn’t just come from the messages you’ve received, but also what you’ve observed with the close women in your life
    • The very human want and need to feel like you’re accepted, loved and like you belong manifests in needing this ‘perfect body’
    • Perfectionism and people pleasing are very closely linked -the 'perfect body' can be about wanting to elicit a response from the people around you, to ‘please’ them.
    • Taking time to connect with your body on a deeper level then how it looks will help you come off this exhausting hamster wheel of perfection and people pleasing.

  • 3 reasons why I use sensual movement to coach you [Ep 3]
    Apr 3 2024

Are you ready to give less fucks about people’s opinions and feel more connected to your body, your creativity and full expression? In this episode I reveal a VERY powerful practice I use in my coaching, to help you connect and develop a relationship with the version of you who has some goddamn AUDACITY, can really elicit the parts of you that want to take up space, and release the shame you’ve learnt to have about your body and who you are.

    Key takeaways from this episode:

    • Sensual movement can release the shame associated with the word sensuality, your body, and who you are as a woman of colour
    • Dance gives you permission to express yourself as you wish, without looking outside of you for approval. It helps to develop an inner sense of approval and authority.
    • It helps you move through stuck emotions and stuckness, resulting in a clearer mind and clarity.

  • Why I've RE-committed to centring my coaching for WOC [EP 2]
    Apr 3 2024

Welcome back boo! In this episode, we are getting spicy. I’m talking about the reasoning behind making the RE-committed decision to work solely with WOC and why the importance of this decision outweighs the fears I’ve had to do this.

    Key takeaways from this episode:

    • The coaching industry is white washed and much coaching practice takes place through an Eurocentric lens, with little to no nuance of the experiences of WOC.
    • There are systemic, generational and cultural reasons why people pleasing and perfectionist tendencies feel so 2nd nature to WOC and need to be addressed if you are to achieve radical self acceptance and develop confidence in who you are and the choices you make for your life.
    • WOC deserve to have spaces where they feel fully seen in their experiences and are held with knowing and understanding
