In this follow-up to #1 New York Times bestselling author Ruth Ware’s multi-million copy mega-hit The Woman in Cabin 10, Lo Blacklock returns to attend the opening of a luxury hotel, only to find herself in a white-knuckled race across Europe.

When the invitation to attend the press opening of a luxury Swiss hotel—owned by reclusive billionaire Marcus Leidmann—arrives, it’s like the answer to a prayer. Three years after the birth of her youngest child, Lo Blacklock is ready to reestablish her journalism career, but post-pandemic travel journalism is a very different landscape from the one she left ten years ago.

The chateau on the shores of Lake Geneva is everything Lo’s ever dreamed of, and she hopes she can snag an interview with Marcus. Unfortunately, he proves to be even more difficult to pin down than his reputation suggests. When Lo gets a late-night call asking her to come to Marcus’s hotel room, she agrees despite her own misgivings. She’s greeted, however, by a woman claiming to be Marcus’s mistress, and in life-or-death jeopardy.

What follows is a thrilling pursuit across Europe, forcing Lo to ask herself just how much she’s willing to sacrifice to save this woman…and if she can even trust her?

Sounded like husband had a speech impediment and kids were extremely whiny with this narrator

Bad New York accent

Narrator completely removed me from the storyline. I have no idea what the story is even about. Felt like I was listening to a preschool teacher telling an animated story to children. I have three stars to overall and story purely because it didn’t feel fair for me to critique either that low when I have no concept due to narration.

Couldn’t listen to narrator.

Nice segue from 10 to 11. The writing is sharp, intense and the plot is captivating. Character development is strong and intriguing. I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next. Just know that there is no pause button on this roller coaster. One twisty turn after another. Loved listening to this one!

Imogen is so talented and gifted as a narrator. It’s easy to get lost in the characters as she gives them all their own unique voice and even accents. She fully brings RW’s words to life!!

So Good!!!

This was a solid, well written mystery. As usual, Imogene Church can’t be beat as a narrator. My only tiny bit of a negative critique is I was wishing it was a touch more eerie. Ruth Ware does excellent eerie books, but this one was not one of them. But still, it was wonderful.

I Loved It!

Love the story, keeps you guessing. Love when Imogene Church provides narration.
Ruth Ware is the best storyteller.

Some of the other voices didn't like the children's voice, most of the men's voices

Jonas's voice and how he loved his wife stood up for her

An enjoyable read and in true Ruth Ware style. Excellent narration per usual . Not as unpredictable as prior novels but still gripping and suspenseful despite this. Overall I enjoyed it.

Enjoyable

I have been a long time fan of Ruth Ware and have read all of her books. This is a sequel to The Woman in Cabin Ten. I read it several years ago, so I didn’t remember all the details, but it didn’t really matter as this was an all new mystery.

I usually love Imogene Church’s narration, but this time some of the character’s accents were a little over the top. It also sounded like she hates kids because she made them sound so whiny. Otherwise a great job overall.

Another great read from Rurh Ware!

This book started a little slow, but the story picked up and was good to the end. The audio performance was excellent!

Good sequel mystery

I absolutely love RW. I couldn’t wait to read about Lo and the book did not disappoint. Only one thing I would add would be including Ben, Cole, and Alexander in the ending.

Anything she writes is gold.
