Beautifully Devastating

Rebecca Ross has done it again. I was completely entranced, spellbound. I loved DV but WR is it's own masterpiece.

I wasn't sure what to expect since it's part of the Divine Rivals world but was happily surprised that it touches on some of the characters we learned about but a story all it's own. This is a beautiful story of love, magic, sacrifice and family.

The magic system is interesting, woven with some familiar lore but still unique. We learn about it's gods, the inner workings, motivations, lifestyles and manipulations.

The story between the FMC and MMC is explored before the main plot pops off. We get to see their first meeting and subsequent in interactions. We see their tether form in a pure, almost untainted setting. It was so sweet.

The side characters were engaging. Bade, oh Bade how I love you. Nathaniel was also a favorite as were Orphia and Rowena.

My one critique, I wish this was a planned duology so I could spend more time with Matilda, Vincent and their world and characters.

Narrators were excellent! The Story was magical!

My first book by this author and I was so blown away with her absolutely beautiful writing. The world and characters were intriguing. The love story was magical. The Narrators were great bringing their words and thoughts to life.

Epic

This story had me in it’s thrall from the first sentence. I loved the world of Divine Rivals and was so excited to read this story. It surpassed all expectations! It felt like reading an epic on par with historical mythologies, with the heart of Tolkien’s high fantasy works, and a star crossed romance that sweeps you off your feet and leaves aching for each chapter. Beautiful, heart rendering, and already a new favorite of mine.

This story felt like I could step right into their world. Written in such a way that I felt I knew the characters and understood their hearts, and motives. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Spell binding story telling at its BEST!!
