Vile Sorcery by Eva Chase and narrated by Meg Sylvan and Stephan Dexter, the second book in a multiple book series.
Return Rory Bloodstone, She made it through the trial to prove her magic, now she just needs to survive her classmates. I love how she tries so hard to maintain her morals while she is being told that everything she grew up learning is wrong, but she is surviving with help from her mentor, her mouse, and her access to the library.
I highly recommend this book but you really need to listen to them in the order that the author intended, or you will be completely lost. Follow Rory and her adventures, and the other scions to see what happens next.

loving this series

absolutely loving this series, can't wait to hear the rest of this series. Eva does an amazing job sucking you into the worlds she creates.

Great series

This book starts up where the first left off. I really enjoyed this as much as book one. The series keeps getting better with each book.

I like this one better than the first.

Rory is getting a better grasp on her powers, but she's still trying to endure the torture of the other scions...though, most of them are starting to come around. Although Malcolm needs a kick in the head. I love how the plot is more of the focus at this point than the romance. I'm glad we're starting to learn a bit more about the other scions, though I want to learn more. Heading on to book 2!

Another brilliant addition to this series. This book has everything - treachery, villians, mystery and magic.

The narrators were bloody awesome. Enjoyed listening to them.

Just Wow!

I love Rory's story and how much she grows both in character and magic! The mystery with the Barrons is soooooo intense! I couldn't wait to listen to the next one.

I'm torn.

Since the rules of the magic have already been defined and the relationships between the characters are more developed, this was in some ways better than the first. But there are some serious shortcomings as well. For one, our female protagonist has only grown in magical ability and not in actual maturity or even emotionally. With the loss of her mentor, she ends this book almost exactly where she was at the end of book 1. Her goals haven't changed even though she's learned a whole lot. Her reasons for "taking down the academy" no longer seem valid and the way she skips from guy to guy shows how much her ego is engorged by her new position despite being "against" the system.
Also, there is so much needless detail that the whole story dragged, but I felt that in book one too. I'd say this one had less of a plot. It almost feels like this entire series could be told in one book if not for the endless description of boring action. For example when Rory searches the house for information. That part felt endless. Even the maze system... I thought, "oh god make it end." The relationship stuff is compelling, but I think the plot needs a lot more to make the story memorable. Like, how would you summarize this episode? Rory's mentor gets sick while she dates everyone, then he dies. ... Shrug. 9 hours to describe that. The magic is cool though.

Love it!

I serious think that this is my favorite series by Eva Chase. Rory is such a strong female character who doesn't let anyone stop her. She has even impressed her enemies to the point of several changing sides to support her. I love how the narrators have brought these characters to life. They have done an excellent job of giving the characters the voices that they deserve and have made the listening experience amazing.

Awe Mazing

Wow. Absolutely love this book and this series! Wasn't too sure about a bully type romance but that's just how it starts. There is real emotion within each character and Rory is the ultimate. Wish I was as bad a$$ and kind as her. Some great steamy scenes and the action and mystery is fantastic throughout the entire audiobook. Never a dull moment. The time flew by. A truly great read. The narrators are spot on for the characters and Stephen's voice is so sexy. Yum.

Absolutely amazing

Ok I really love this series now! So now I need book 3...like now lol. I'm really enjoying the fact that there are two narrators and how the story is progressing. Its gonna get good!!
