Almost a 5 Star book, but sadly not

This is a hard one to rate. I loved the whole book up, and didn’t want to stop listening. If you would have asked me to rate it anytime before the last hour I would have given it 5 ⭐️. However, I was very unsatisfied with the ending. Like really? It could have been great, instead it was like, huh? Ok. I call bs but ok. And I’m sure that was the authors intention, but I didn’t care for that approach. When the story has you drawn in from the beginning you expect to be wowed by the ending. Instead it got a shrug. I guess if you don’t normally listen to suspense you’ll probably be satisfied with it, but being that I like dark and suspenseful I was left wanting. I would still recommend the book however as I said it did keep my attention which is hard. Just don’t get your hopes too high for some huge BELIEVABLE plot twist. I liked the first narrator. I don’t care for the narrator of Verity, but she was a lot less annoying in this one than some of her others. She was tolerable.

WHAT. THE. CRAP.

WTF is the only thing that keeps repeating on loop having just finished this mindbending thriller. Like, I thought I knew CoHo, but... what did I actually just read?

Oh yeah, the narration was perfect. But the words... yeah, still reeling. I'm terrified of your brain lady.

If any other readers are afraid to read this book like I was.. you should be, but not for the reasons you think. This story is going to grip your brain so tight and twist any preconceived notions you ever had about Colleen Hoover being normal. I mean, she just completely obliterated my brain... but in the best way possible. Thanks for making me feel as batcrap crazy as you apparently are. I mean brilliant. CoHo, you so brilliant, not crazy. Yeah, that's what I meant.

This was absolutely impossible to press pause on. It drew me in right from the first minute until the last second. This is my first book by this author, but I am definitely looking into more soon.

I couldn't stop listening

Just when I thought I had it all figured out, there's a twist. The story keeps listeners engaged.

Wow! Just wow! I literally was shocked and even spoke out loud a few times! The end is good! It’s NOT about children being hurt. It’s about a character who’s a writer being a strong antagonist. It’s brilliant! Goodness look at all the people who did read it! Great twist.

Dark and Twisted

Dark and twisted to the very end; however, it did keep me questioning, 'what will happen next?'

the ending is infuriating

the ending is infuriating. that's all. I wanted the happy ending but this was definitely a last minute plot twist.. I do appreciate the story is unpredictable and I enjoyed the read a lot.

Spooky page turner

I really enjoyed this book, some parts were hard to listen to so I skipped through them but overall I found it entertaining but dark.

Wow wow wow

At first I thought this book was going to be predictable, and in my defense I was right, until the end. The twist in the final chapter left me floored. I do wish there would have been a bit more of a definitive ending (there is room for interpretation) but regardless, I wasn’t expecting the ending.

Great Listen!

What an excellent thriller! This book had me hooked from beginning to end. It was an emotional roller coaster, and I am still processing the ending. I agree with the other reviews; there was a lot of sex in this book. Both of the narrators were great.
