My whole world changed when I stepped inside the academy. Nothing is right about this place or the other students in it. Here I am, a mere mortal among gods...or monsters. I still can't decide which of these warring factions I belong to, if I belong at all. I only know the one thing that unites them is their hatred of me.

Then there's Jaxon Vega. A vampire with deadly secrets who hasn't felt anything for a hundred years. But there's something about him that calls to me, something broken in him that somehow fits with what's broken in me.

Which could spell death for us all.

Because Jaxon walled himself off for a reason. And now someone wants to wake a sleeping monster, and I'm wondering if I was brought here intentionally—as the bait.

Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music.

Performed by Melody Muze, Wyn Delano, Yenn Ann, Anthony Palmini, Julienne Irons, Gabriel Michael, Eric Messner, Melody Muze, Alejandro Ruiz, Aure Nash, Bradley Foster Smith, Chris Stinson, Colleen Delany, David Cui Cui, Donald Guzzi, Drew Kopas, Karen Novack, Megan Hastie, Michael John Casey, Nora Achrati, Robb Moreira, Scott McCormick, Steve Wannall, Sura Sui, Tia Shearer, and Yasmin Tuazon.

I love this series and got so excited when I saw they were doing a graphic audio version! The only things that kept bothering me were some of the voices. Macys voice didn’t fit, I kept having to lower the volume cause the high pitch in her voice kept hurting my ears. Also she sounded too childish. Jaxon I tried to get over ass well, he sounds like a full grown man rather than a teenager. I hope the graphic audio gets better and it makes me worried for who is going to voice Hudson. Cause if the voice actor for Hudson doesn’t do a great job I don’t think I’ll be able to finish listening to the rest of the series :(

Voices were distracting

So I loved the story. I didn’t like Jaxon’s voice actor- he sounded like a 40 yr old voicing a 12th grader. Something with mark. It was a little distracting. But everything else was good. Flint cracks me up; love him

Jaxon voice

I almost cannot finish this book - the story is slow and ok --- and for the most part I like it. I like voice actors (EXCEPT FOR MACY) I literally cannot deal with the high pitched squeaky awfulness. It's so hard to push through because I forever have to significantly lower the volume when she speaks - and it's just so distracting!

OMG ..Macy voice!

These are some of my favorite books and I loved some other dramatized book adaptions so wanted to give this one a try.

The narrator is great, but I really didn't feel like they got the right voice actors for Jaxon's or Macy's characters in particular. Jaxon sounds way too old and Macy sounds kinda like a whiny over exaggerated valley girl. I had just listened to the dramatized version of the ACOTAR series and think they did a bang up job on nailing those characters, so it was a little difficult at times to connect to a couple of the ones with this book version because some of the voices just didn't seem to fit the characters very well. I was taken aback by Leah's voice too because she sounded way older too.

Overall I still do like the dramatized version, it's fun to listen to. I just had a hard time connecting to some of of the characters because the voices didnt match very well to me. I'm really crossing my fingers that Hudson's voice character doesn't disappoint!

Voices didnt seem right for some characters

I kept waiting for the plot to kick in but it never did. The twilight references were way to much. I hope book 2 will be better but it’s probably going to sit in my tbr for awhile

Ugh Will something please happen

Love graphic audio. This was really good aside from a couple of voices that were off/ hard to listen to but they’re not the main narrator/character so it doesn’t over power the overall listening to the book. Just want to make note in case the production companies read these and can take note :) Macys voice is so bad … like the narrator was trying to make a little kid voice and it’s so nasally and awful. Leah is so bad -too old, sounds like a fake British accent and sounds like she’s struggling with every sentence with the heavy breaths she takes after every sentence… thankful she isn’t in the rest of the series so we won’t have to listen to it all the way through the series lol some people said Jaxon is too old sounding but I actually like it it’s deep and sultry and when you figure he’s suppose to be a big tall muscular guy and technically centuries old it works. As long as the “hot” guys voice can sound sexy and sultry it works for me ;)

Great … but Macy’s voice tho

The voice actors did a great job but I feel like Jackson and Leah’s voices sounded a little too mature/old for 17 year olds/young adults. I couldn’t imagine the characters with their voices no matter how great they did. A lot of the dialogue felt really cringey, like the text message banter and cheesy jokes exchanged.

This is one of my favorite series so I was really excited to hear it come to life with Graphic Audio. it was ROUGH. This is not anything against the voice actors themselves because overall they did a great job...but the casting choices are just atrocious. Macy is so nasally and squeaky....the voice just doesn't line up with her character at all. I cringed everytime she spoke. Jaxon and Leah both sound like they are in their 40s. Like I said I LOVE this series...but I was really disappointed with the casting choices here. I most likely won't finish out the rest of the series on Graphic Audio solely for that reason.

Disappointed
