Publisher's summary

"Some say, We're born into the grave...I feel so alone, Gonna end up a big ol' pile of them bones (Alice in Chains)." My Dad says that the people that make it in life are those who keep on trying, and although I didn't agree with him as a rebellious teen, it's true. Maybe someone told him? Writing has become part of my life, and KDP has revolutionized publishing and continues to do so. I will never be one of the 1% of authors who will become rich, get a movie deal, or be able to work at it full-time nor do I want to be. KDP is for these authors, but it's also for the soft white underbelly that is me; the poor guy, who may be your neighbor, who has a sense of humor and wants to share some of his life with others around the world. Every book publisher in the world is hanging on the coattails of KDP and Amazon, and I subconsciously knew this. That's why when I was blocked it felt like the world had collapsed on me and that the future was bleak. Frantic and panicky, I immediately started to do research, and like everything on the Internet, there is some really good advice out there and a bunch of crap. As I wiped away tears and engaged in a little meditation, I reflected. KDP is a branch of a much larger organization, that is, Amazon, and it wasn't the end of the world. Be professional, don't take things personally, and keep writing! I composed an email to KDP, was honest, and in the end, my account was unblocked. It felt like all was lost, but it reinvigorated my love of writing and allowed me to reflect on the future of the publishing world. Clearly, the tools offered by KDP will continue to outpace any and all competition, and my advice is that if you have a question just send them an email. In the end, your work may not be marketable for the organization, so just compose something else and submit it. "But f... it, life's handin' you lemons? Make lemonade then! (Eminem)."
