a good addition to the Green Ember family of books

This story brings the reader up to date on some of the stories that the main characters (in the main three books) have "had from the crib" and sets the stage for further adventure in the next Green Ember Series book. My family loves these books!

LOVE IT!!!💜💜💜

This incredible book is very captivating, for both adults and kids, but especially for tweens (8-12). Storyline is very life giving, showing the ups and downs of real life. S.D. Smith is an phenomenal writer, somehow adding that touch of magic that keeps you listening all day long. If you enjoy this book, I would suggest listening to the Green Ember series, if you haven’t already. AMAZING. Love this series.💜📔

Love the additional backstory to a beloved adventure!

These books are an absolute favorite! Each book is a new treasure to add to the Green Ember adventure. I love listening with my 12 & 14 year old who have been avid fans since the first Green Ember Book. Waiting for the next story!

Most reviewers don't give this series enough credit...

I love this series and this is the perfect prologue to the Green Ember! It's perfect! I mean, most onomatopoeia books I read are boring, dumb and are twaddle. It is not often when you come across a great is book series like this one. It is perfect for both genders of about 7 or 8 to.... well, whatever age!

I think that people who have vetoed it should give The Green Ember series another chance. Please read this book! My family and friends love it and so will you! (I hope)😌

A family favorite

We love the the Green Ember series. The audio versions are a delight to listen to. My 9 year old son has listened through this series countless times. He loves the Chronicles of Narnia, the Hobbit, the first two books in the Lord of the Rings, however the Green Ember series is his all time favorite. This book is appropriate for all ages and will be one that the whole family will enjoy!

Another winner

Another fantastic story from S.D Smith. This gives more information about King Whitson, Queen Lilly and Prince Lander after the events in the Black Star of Kingston- as well as filling in more of the history alluded to in the Green Ember, Ember Falls, Ember Rising books. My 8 and 10 year old love these books- bravery, adventure, betrayal, heroism, battles, friendship and sacrifice.
We like that the Black Star of Kingston, The Last Archer and The Wreck and Rise of Whitson Mariner all have the same author.
