War is only the beginning...

From number one New York Times best-selling author Jennifer L. Armentrout comes book four in her Blood and Ash series.

From the desperation of golden crowns...

Casteel Da’Neer knows all too well that very few are as cunning or vicious as the Blood Queen, but no one, not even him, could’ve prepared for the staggering revelations. The magnitude of what the Blood Queen has done is almost unthinkable.

And born of mortal flesh...

Nothing will stop Poppy from freeing her King and destroying everything the Blood Crown stands for. With the strength of the Primal of Life’s guards behind her, and the support of the wolven, Poppy must convince the Atlantian generals to make war her way—because there can be no retreat this time. Not if she has any hope of building a future where both kingdoms can reside in peace.

A great primal power rises...

Together, Poppy and Casteel must embrace traditions old and new to safeguard those they hold dear—to protect those who cannot defend themselves. But war is only the beginning. Ancient primal powers have already stirred, revealing the horror of what began eons ago. To end what the Blood Queen has begun, Poppy might have to become what she has been prophesied to be—what she fears the most.

As the Harbinger of Death and Destruction.

It was a well written book, I’ve looked forward to reading it for a long time. The narrator did great but I really wish she would stop drawing out that word like that. It makes getting through the book so hard 😂

Please never say eather like that again.

I wish they would have stayed with just Stina! Stina is perfect!! Tim you are a lovely reader but my expectations have been let down with this change!

Casteels voice

I am amazed by this series. I love all of the books. Poppy and Casteel are perfect together. The secondary character are compelling. Kieran, Millicent, Delano, Reaver, Emil. The list goes on and on. While the characters grow and make choices that effect their world and the future of it you can’t help but feel for them and the hard choices they have to face. This book was amazing. And I can’t wait for more.

Loved it!!

I am in absolute awe of JLA AND STINA NEILSON. I disagree heavily with all the people saying the new narrator was not needed, or that he did a terrible job. HE WAS PERFECT. one think I consistently saw were people saying he wasn't " casteel enough" I disagree, casteel always has a shelf up, poppt herself always said she could feel the anguish hidden under. It makes sense to have a narrator read him just a bit more seriously. If the narrator would have to too light hearted he would have come off as arrogant. He was also captured and tortured for more than half the book. How jovial do you all expect him to be?? Forget about logic, and the joing made sense, She do not cheat on cas, their friendship developed into something beautiful and casteel loves them both. get over it. AMAZING

EVRY BOOK IS BETTER THAN THE LAST!!!!! (spoiler)

The story did not disappoint! The buildup to the big reveal had me on edge. definitely a fitting end to the trilogy. Ms Stina did a superb job with her characters, and while Mr. Campbell performed creditably, his tendency to add an 'r' to end of certain words, for example 'saw(r)' really detracted from the story.

Awesomeness!

This book was everything I was wishing for and more! Loved both narrators and can't wait to see where else this story goes!

Always had my attention. Hope she will one day continue this story, along with spin offs.

Love it

I loved the first three books, and although it was sometimes complex and convoluted, keeping up with all the beings and entities, and the pantheon of gods in this book, just got too ridiculous! Enough, it’s too much! Along with all the internal dialogue going in with Poppy, wow…I can’t! And now with the set-up of the next book in the series, I just wonder where it’s all going, when everything was pushed to the max in this one.

Having the two narrators didn’t bother me as much as it did some people. I actually enjoyed hearing Casteel’s voice as a man and feel like the male narrator did a good job. In fact, wish I could have heard more from him. However, I felt like the Casteel character cursed way more than he did in the other stories. Where his speech used to be sprinkled with the f-word at times, in this one, his cursing and foul language could make sailors blush! Also, the sex scenes were too numerous and at times a bit over the top. Still enjoyable though, especially the bonding ritual one that offended some people, but I felt like it was handled really well and made sense within the arc of the series.

Whereas, the pronunciation of the word “ether” is noticeable and notable, and really, as much as it’s repeated, the female narrator (Stina Nielsen) really should learn how to correctly pronounce it. Otherwise, it becomes or remains the joke that keeps on giving and could grate on the nerves if continued. Time to make a change…

Don’t know if I’m anticipating listening to the next one. I may do it out of curiosity, but this series may have jumped the shark with this latest installment, in my opinion. Still think it’s worth a listen, but must get better, as this one is somewhat of a fail.

Very complicated, perhaps a bit TOO complicated!

For me, this book didn’t pack nearly the same punch or satisfy as the others in this series. I was a bit disappointed overall. Still far better than many other books but I found a lot of issues with the dramatic change in characters/their relationship or lack thereof in changes. I felt like there were several lines or themes that were a bit overly repeated throughout. There were many parts of the plot that were rushed through. For the first time in this series there were a few moments here and there where my attention started to drift. As for the narrators- I LOVE LOVE the females rendition of Cas. It was a bit shocking to hear the male narrator at first but I wholly agree with bringing in a male for his POV. While he did a great job, his tone/feeling wasn’t quite what I would have chosen.

Weakest Book
