From the desperation of golden crowns…
Casteel Da’Neer knows all too well that very few are as cunning or vicious as the Blood Queen, but no one, not even him, could’ve prepared for the staggering revelations. The magnitude of what the Blood Queen has done is almost unthinkable.
And born of mortal flesh…
Nothing will stop Poppy from freeing her King and destroying everything the Blood Crown stands for. With the strength of the Primal of Life’s guards behind her, and the support of the wolven, Poppy must convince the Atlantian generals to make war her way—because there can be no retreat this time. Not if she has any hope of building a future where both kingdoms can reside in peace.
A great primal power rises…
Together, Poppy and Casteel must embrace traditions old and new to safeguard those they hold dear—to protect those who cannot defend themselves. But war is only the beginning. Ancient primal powers have already stirred, revealing the horror of what began eons ago. To end what the Blood Queen has begun, Poppy might have to become what she has been prophesied to be—what she fears the most.
As the Harbinger of Death and Destruction.

i almost wish i had taken longer to get through it because i saw that part 2 wasn’t going to be available until october 29th!! 😭 I was so hooked at the cliffhanger at the end that i ended up getting the OG audiobook, and found myself constantly rewinding to see what happened because i spaced out. the graphic audio is so much more captivating & much easier to follow to understand exactly who is speaking when the different voices are spoken.
i’ve just finished the OG audiobook, but i will definitely come back to part 2 for another listen!!!

I am tandem listening and reading to reread the series to refresh my memory for the most recent release, and I am glad I paid the extra for the dramatized version.
Disappointed they are not all done in dramatized before I commited to the series this way, but happy for the experience up to this point nonetheless.
Magical performance

Overall, I like the story and would recommend reading the physical version of this series. Your imagination will likely speak with determination and not whines
Book 4 - too whiney

💔 My battered heart? I’d hand it to this cast in a heartbeat.
Because I know they’d heal it with laughter, banter, friendship, and love that wraps around you like a warm cloak after battle. 🫶
Every single character has meaning, depth, and presence. This isn’t a story that forgets its side characters; everyone matters, and it shows. They’re all so multidimensional, and I want to be their friend.
Special mentions:
👑 My queen of queens: Poppy
🔥 My “Always – Casteel – Forever”
🐺 My tucks a hair behind her ear and kisses her forehead Kieran
🐉 My “He can breathe fire” – “And that’s a bad thing?” Reaver
🌀 The chaos-manifest in the unpredictable, unhinged, unfiltered new favourite character: Millicent
🌌 And the cameos?! The crossovers?! The clever world-stitching?!
JLA didn’t just connect two series. She built an entire universe that breathes, pulses, and keeps you coming for more from book to book.
If you haven’t followed her recommended reading order, do it. It’s not optional. It’s sacred lore.
🏰 The world she’s created? I’m ready to fall down that rabbit hole.
If Alice had stumbled into this world, she wouldn’t have wanted to leave.
I am the Alice of this world, please point me to the portal.
So yeah… It’s official. This interconnected duo of series might just snag the title of my favourite series read(s) of 2025.🏆
Also, I was crashing out with a million theories.... I can't wait for more curveballs!!
