Dear Sexy AF Intern,

I know you don't particularly care that I'm the CEO of this company, and you're just an intern. I also know you're not impressed by my power or my wealth, and that's fine.

You think you've got me all figured out from working alongside me for two weeks, but you don't know me. Not really.

You don't know that I'm a single dad to twin toddlers, or that those two little girls matter more to me than this entire hotel chain.

I'm not interested in starting something deep and meaningful, but what I am interested in is the way your body reacts to mine when we're in the same room. You probably assume the concentration on my face is work-related, when in reality, I'm figuring out which I want more - to nail you against the wall, or to bend you over my desk.

While you're too disciplined to act on it, I'm not. And the night you stepped into my limo, all bets were off.

This is a cliffhanger

The book is fine, the narration is outstanding. But be aware....THIS IS A CLIFFHANGER!!!! Would it be so hard to warn a girl?

Cliffhanger Alert

I wish I knew before I listened. I would have waited for the rest. I hate cliffhangers.

A sinful arrangement (with a few spoilers)

I literally cried because I felt duped by the cliffhanger at the end! I’ve been reading romance novels for decades and PURPOSELY stay away from cliffhangers until all the books in the series are out for me to binge read. I’m an avid reader so there will be about five books before I get to the sequel then I have to re-familiarize myself with everything. According to Amazon.com – it should be out June 25th. (Yes! I stalked the author’s page to find out.)

Now that we’ve covered the cliff hanger, let’s get down to the review. I don’t usually put in spoilers but I feel that since I was hung out there to dry – why not? I won’t give you too much (because it is a really good read)…but I am going to give more than I would usually give in my reviews.

Dom – CEO of family business all because his older brother who was supposed to take over passed away. His parents have both passed on as well. When he learned that his girlfriend was pregnant with twin girls but planned to abort them – he gave her everything she ever wanted in life to guarantee they were carried to term. She signed the girls over to him and took off. The girls are his only family. He doesn’t do relationships – instead he uses an upscale escort service for dates, plus one, etc. (not intimacy). His daughters and the company he owns keeps him plenty busy.

His company needs a new executive staff member to work alongside him and his BFF (VP) so he brings in three interns on an unpaid trial basis to team up with current members of the executive team. He’s teamed with Presley.

Presley’s mom passed when she was a teen. Her dad mentally checked out on her and her brother. Especially since her brother came out as gay and wanted to take up dance in college. Presley, having a 4.0 GPA and being a hardworking, picked up the slack. Using her internship checks to pay for his tuition. When a coveted (unpaid) internship to Dom’s company become available. She goes for it, gets it and is doing amazingly!

One night, Dom’s escort doesn’t show up for an important dinner with a potential client and he needs a plus one. He offers the money to Presley. Completely platonic and it goes well.

Here is what I absolutely LOVE about these two. The circumstances above would paint Dom as an emotional wreck (family passed, shifty ex-girlfriend, single dad who’s overworked) but he’s really not. He has his good and bad moments but everything is tastefully done AND with reasons that make sense.

Same for Presley (accepting money to be a plus one really isn’t what it seems either) the author does a great job of giving you legitimate reasons that help you understand why she does what she does. Oh and by the way, she’s a virgin so she’s not into accepting money for dates on the regular.

Of course, after you fall in love with both characters, there is a misunderstanding that will blow your mind!! Then the story ends. GASP! They give you a few chapters of the next book to clear up a few things but it’s not the same as finishing the entire story.

My recommendation – wait on book 2 and then read them ALL together. However, it’s an awesome book with great characters.

Meh

I definitely struggled to finish this. It is a pretty basic set up, nothing original. That is pretty much what I wanted, something frivolous to listen to while doing monotonous tasks.

This just fell flat for me. Maybe because the characters in the story are too young? The problems they have with their "relationship" are definitely due to immaturity.

Once again, poor communication leads to a few hours of pointless dialogue.

Her:Let me explain!
Him: No
Her: but..
Him: Don't care (insert 5 minutes of internal dialogue)

Or

Him: Why are doing this?
Her: (has genuine reason but...) I... can't explain it, I'm sorry
Him: liar!
Her: I am not (insert 5 minutes of internal dialogue)

oh and of course this "Insatiable need" for the other that makes it IMPOSSIBLE not to have sex with each other... come one authors, you can do better than this.

great...

I didn't realize when I started listening to this story that it was a two-part! I'm like what the heck!? It seemed like I was just getting into it and then...bam! it's over. But no worries. it's a great book with great narration and I'll definitely be listening to the second part! Another great listen by Kendall Ryan!

Ugh stops in the middle

Interesting story premise but not enough meat to justify a cliffhanger. Narrators very good as always but this book just stops in the middle of the story. I have no problem with series but don’t make a series by cutting a finished story in half to get two credits which is what this feels like.

CLIFFHANGER!!!

Story just ends ... then nearly an hour of previews and a less than five minute question/answer session with Jacob.

I really liked then story and the characters, I felt like Kendall was finally spending time telling a story instead of rushing through scenes — but just tell me it’s a two part book to begin with. Quite frankly, there’s no reason for it, it’s not as if this book is a long listen, it could have easily been combined to make this worth a credit.

Will I buy the sequel — yes! But I’ve learned my lesson and this will be the last Kendall Ryan book I buy.

So good!!!

I love all of Kendall Ryan’s books and this one is no different. It’s exactly what you want it to be but even more it has so much more heart and depth then you realize. And the narration of course is amazing!! I can’t recommend this book enough.

Good BUT..

Be aware, this one is a cliffhanger. Had I known, I would’ve skipped it. It was a decent story and Jacob Morgan is, of course, the best! If you don’t mind having to get a second book..enjoy!

Two week arrangement cliffhanger

Enjoyed story, loved narrators, ends on a cliff hanger, but you get 1st chapter of next book included, which helps soften the blow. Quick interview of Jacob Morgan which was great, as I am a big fan. Then last 20mins excerpt of another book. This seems to happen alot with this author? Story was a good 40mins shorter than expected. It was an enjoyable read. Perhaps wait until next book comes out so you don't have to wait, because you will have the desire to continue the story.
