Publisher's summary
It's time for your operation.
Christian Windsor is a certified genius. He's also autistic. Social situations? Not for him. Friends? No thanks. At 23 years old, with two PhDs, Christian joins the FBI's most dangerous division, The Exceptional Crimes Unit. His first assignment? A serial killer on a rampage. Nicknamed The Surgeon, he's cutting the eyeballs out of women.
That's not the only psychopath lurking in the shadows, though. There's another, and Christian can't see him: his partner. The world renowned psychiatrist, Luke Titan.
Bodies are showing up with dark holes instead of eyes, and Christian is racing against time to understand The Surgeon's identity before more die....
Can he stop The Surgeon, though, before his own partner kills him?

Story
Kelly Roth, FBI profiler, returns home to Syracuse to stop a sadistic serial killer. Three murders in three separate jurisdictions in central New York State have the same pattern: women killed by fatal headshots from a hunting rifle. Kelly Roth is sent from Virginia to help the local police. Each victim was found murdered in a remote area or in a quiet park. The media call him “The Park Killer.” But Kelly doesn’t think the killer lurks in the bushes. She thinks he hunts his victims somewhere else.

Story
The body lying on a cold steel slab bears all the hallmarks of the Chicago Butcher. There's a cruel slash across her throat, deep enough to sever the carotid artery, and a small crescent carved into her right breast. Her delicate features are painfully familiar to Ash Marcel, once a rising star in the Chicago PD. But though the victim resembles his former fiancee, Remi Walsh, he knows it's not her. Though Remi escaped a serial killer five years ago, her father died trying to save her. Grief and guilt caused her to pull away from the man she loved.

What a twist
I wasn’t expecting that. So often the outcomes are predictable. Nice twist at the end.

hated the ending
Well written. Nice voice. I like Christian. However, I detest the ending. The whole Luke story line just ended on a whimper. I won't read the next even though the writing is solid.
