Publisher's Summary

In the riveting conclusion of the 4MK trilogy, Barker takes the thriller to an entirely new level. Don't miss a single word of the series James Patterson called "ingenious."

Hear No Evil

For Detective Sam Porter, the words "Father, forgive me" conjure memories long forgotten; a past intentionally buried. For Anson Bishop, these three words connect a childhood to the present as he unleashes a truth concealed for decades.

See No Evil

Found written on cardboard near each body, these words link multiple victims to a single killer - discovered within minutes of each other in both Chicago and South Carolina - clearly connected yet separated by impossible miles.

Speak No Evil

Chicago Metro and the FBI find themselves caught in chaos - a hospital on lockdown, a rogue officer, and corruption at the highest levels. When Anson Bishop, the prime suspect in the notorious 4MK serial murders turns himself in, he reveals a story completely unexpected, one that not only upends the current investigation, but one that will change the lives of all involved.

Do No Evil

With unrelenting tension and pulse-pounding suspense, the past unravels at breakneck speed as the truth behind the Four Monkey Killer's motive is finally revealed in this masterfully crafted finale.

End of the 4MK trilogy

WOW! That was intense! I'm starting this review by stating the fact that my rating of 3 stars in much lower than the average rating will be. I loved The Fourth Monkey and liked The Fifth to Die a lot. THE SIXTH WICKED CHILD is a necessary completion of the trilogy but it is disjointed and not as well written as the first two novels. The chapters are too short making keeping up with the plot too difficult. The potential listener should be aware that the three novels in 4MK series are not standalone. They must be listened to in order.

I’ll second Wayne’s review!

I agree with the review left by Wayne (Matthews, NC). I’ve never met or spoken to him, I’m just a follower of his and enjoy reading his reviews, they have pointed me to more than one good series. Anyway, yes this has short choppy chapters that jump between characters and time frame. I’m almost sorry I didn’t relisten to the previous book before listening to this one. It’s been a while since the second book was released and in the beginning of this book I felt a little lost at times. Definitely listen in order. Narrators worked very well together. Without them I probably wouldn’t have finished If you found this review helpful please indicate so. Thank You.

Really!

I am definitely in the minority and I love a good thriller/mystery but come on! I should've stopped at book 1. The final book might as well been categorized as a fantasy. Just because you can come up with the most convoluted approach to a revenge plot DOES NOT mean you should. The author took the power of suggestion to a whole new meaning and actually insults the reader's intelligence. This was the absolute weakest task force on the face of the EARTH, guess while researching the author failed to think through a true manhunt of this level or took just a little time to review outbreak procedures. Who would've ever thought that "trust, but verify" ever existed after reading this book. The author's notes cannot explain this catastrophe away. Of course nature and nuture help to shape someone's actions and character but so does common sense, which was lacked by multiple characters. The extraneous number of twists only served to drive up the page count. If you're someone like me who has to finish what they start...check this book out from the library, read chapters 1-50, 108-116 and finally 129-136...you're welcome!

sorry to see Sam go!

I must say the storyline was superb I didn't see the ending coming that was a twist I did not see coming but overall it was an outstanding performance and all the children grew up as adults and planned out their revenge. I really hate to see the series come to an end Sam I'm going to miss you Bishop your little stinker mother and father as well. great storyline great performance, Edoardo Ballerini love listening to you.

Loved the first ones, this one completely lost me

I am no dummy, but this book was such a huge disappointment !!! It was all over the place. I struggled so hard to finish it with acute understanding of what makes an animal chew it’s on limb off to get away from a trap!!!

This Series is A Knockout

I have no idea where to begin. I waited two years for this series to close and now that it has, I am so sad about that. Everything about these three books are amazing. JD was so impressive in his writing style. The story left me breathless at the end. I hung on every word of all three books. I was devastated about how book 2 ended, but the end was worth the wait. Buy this series, sit back, and enjoy the ride!!

Loved the series, hated the final book

I really enjoyed the series. The characters and the storylines were very intriguing. This final book, however, was a mess. It was unlike the other books and I feel the author tried to pack in too much action where there should have been an in-depth story. Way too many characters with no character development. Personally, I hated this one.

The makings of a good book but.....

I wanted to love this book however as previous reviewers have noted it was just to bogged down with seemingly unimportant details that didn’t really move the plot forward. It reached a point that it just seemed to drag on and on. I skipped some chapters (fall asleep) and picked right back up listening and it didn’t seem to make much of a difference. I really enjoyed the first two however the abrupt ending on the second book was rather lame. I really enjoy the development of characters and learning their back story. I wish the author had spent more time telling me about the background of the main players and their motivations.

Wonderful trilogy

I very rarely give a 5 star review but this trilogy had me on the edge of my seat! It is a fast paced roller coaster ride that will keep you guessing. The narration was good but some of the voices blended a little which made some parts confusing and I had the rewind a few times to listen again. I would love to see this turned into a major motion picture!

Fantastic

Loved this series intriguing suspenseful. Many edge of the seat shifting and turning plots never suspected this ending. The narration was excellent enhanced the breathtaking suspense. Fantastic series from beginning to end.
