Excellent book on leadership that is told through a simple and compelling story. I would recommend it for sure.

My Review - Fantastic

While spending my entire day at an airport... I managed to finish this one in just one sitting because I could not get enough of it. This was an exceptionally amazing book. I will firmly place this into my library of favorites and will highly suggest this for anyone in leadership positions. The themes and subjects examined in this book were so potent and relatable that I'm sure anyone could benefit from it. However, this book presents the subjects in the form of a character going to a retreat and learning lessons about himself, humbling him into changing his approach to leadership. Any NCO, officer, manager, or supervisor could find something in this book to better learn about being good at their jobs, I'm sure. Learning about being honest, humble, a servant, having authority versus having power are only a few subjects explored. Truly, I can't brag on this one enough.

This book explains the principles of servanthood and how being a servant is essential to being a powerful leader. This book is a must read for anyone who wants to impact the lives of others!

One of the most influential books I’ve listened to.

I recommend reading/listening to the seven habits of highly effective people by Stephen R Covey then this book! The 7 habits provide a good foundation for this book; however, you do not have to read that one first. This book has changed my leadership course. I recently had someone ask me to mentor them. I am super proud to say the books I’ve been listening to have allowed me to influence the lives of others! Thank you to all those who have helped me on this journey!

Life changing

Many years ago I made the jump to leader but struggled with the transition from managing to leading. Someone lent me this book and it changed the way I approach leadership. I revisited this book over the weekend after 10 years and was reminded how profound an impact it has had in my career. Every one should read this book regardless of where you are in your career. It even helped me as a parent of two special needs kids.

Great recording! Great book! I enjoyed this book so much, I bought the hard copy and I’m listening to it again! I truly believe those in leadership positions should be required to read this book. Truly transformational!

Great book on leadership

This book gives a more “holistic” style of leadership. It was wonderful and I will apply the principles taught!!! Recommended for every leader at all stages in their career!!! I wish more leaders applied these principles.
