The world’s most celebrated thriller writer and author of The Da Vinci Code returns with his most stunning novel yet—a propulsive, twisty, thought-provoking masterpiece that will entertain audiences as only Dan Brown can do.

Robert Langdon, esteemed professor of symbology, travels to Prague to attend a groundbreaking lecture by Katherine Solomon—a prominent noetic scientist with whom he has recently begun a relationship. Katherine is on the verge of publishing an explosive book that contains startling discoveries about the nature of human consciousness and threatens to disrupt centuries of established belief. But a brutal murder catapults the trip into chaos, and Katherine suddenly disappears along with her manuscript. Langdon finds himself targeted by a powerful organization and hunted by a chilling assailant sprung from Prague’s most ancient mythology. As the plot expands into London and New York, Langdon desperately searches for Katherine . . . and for answers. In a thrilling race through the dual worlds of futuristic science and mystical lore, he uncovers a shocking truth about a secret project that will forever change the way we think about the human mind.

Extremely Interesting

I enjoyed again Mr. D. brown exquisite imagination, highly researched historical information provided in this book. The many plots developed in this novel are familiar. The novel's central theme marks a notable evolution for the series. Instead of relying on art history or religious symbology as its sole foundation, The Secret of Secrets pivots to mental activity science and the nature of human consciousness. Langdon’s new love interest and scientific foil, Katherine Solomon, represents this shift, offering a more cerebral, futurist-oriented puzzle to be solved. This move into brain science and a "cloud of global consciousness" could be interpreted as an attempt to introduce fresh, contemporary intellectual fodder into a well-established framework.
The narrator execution is excellent. Every chapter ends on a cliffhanger, a technique that demonstrates Brown’s mastery of generating reader engagement. When my listening was interrupted by home's requirements, I could not wait to get back the book. The antagonist, while perhaps less theatrically villainous than previous models (such as the albino monk from The Da Vinci Code), serves its function effectively by stalking the protagonists and raising the threat level.
Robert Langdon’s character, while central, appears to have shifted in his function. In previous iterations, he was the primary driver of the intellectual puzzle-solving. Here, with Katherine Solomon taking the lead on the cutting-edge scientific concepts, Langdon sometimes functions more as a historical interpreter and a classic action hero, suggesting a possible rebalancing of the protagonist's role within the series.
I may have to wait years to read the next Mr. Dan Brown masterpiece but, I'll be patient.

Another Masterpiece of Mr. Dan Brown

I really enjoyed it, narration is very good, the plot follows a similar style as the other Langdon adventures and Prague is a great setting, would love a novel of the series set in Asia, maybe Hong Kong.

Proven formula

Everything works in another Dan Brown classic. Best yet. Life after death. Are the answers here in the text and references? Only you can decide.

Philosophical answer with science support for life after death.

Dan brown doesn’t disappoint. I listened to this non stop for 2 days. The ideas here are revolutionary

Mind blowing

I don’t really mind when an author occasionally builds up to a discussion, then keeps the contents of said discussion a secret for the sake of suspense. He only did that about a dozen times in this book and left me more frustrated than anything. I persevered because I was intrigued. The story itself was decent, albeit somewhat predictable at times. The narrator was awful though. I don’t recall disliking this guy nearly as much from DaVinci Code. But he was just terrible in this reading. Overall, it’s a good book if you’re a fan of the series. But it’s nothing to write home to ma about.

This book just didn’t hit like others in the series

Dan Brown hits another one out of the park with this fascinating novel addressing a topic that has captivated people for ages.

Fascinating read

I’m sad to say this was not the escape from our political situation I was hoping for. Of course, I guess that feeling like Sisyphus pushing a boulder uphill is, at least, some kind of distraction. Ridiculously complex, shallow characters, sigh. Out of stubbornness I’m determined to finish it, but what a chore. 🤪😵‍💫

A heavy slog

Great book. I am glad he followed up on the Noetic discussion from the previous book with an additional twist. I’m interested how true the theory is.

Dan Brown still has me Googling.

It feels very much like the other Robert Langdon books. I’m glad certain aspects of his life are coming together, but the ending was too cleanly wrapped up. Still, I’ll probably read/listen to it again so I give it five stars. The narration was on point as always!

Finally….but also too clean (Spoilers)
