Buy this book if you are looking for an author who doesn’t disappoint in developing the story from start to finish. I loved it! Seriously, what a treat. I am pumped that Lee has provided additional books to read using the characters we have come to love. You won’t regret this purchase.

Stackhouse comes to life

I was lucky enough to read this book when it came out and I throughly enjoyed it. For me, reading a book gives me an image in my head of that character and that image sticks with me throughout the book or in this case, the series. Most of the books I read have male lead characters but this one was quite different. Andy Stackhouse is strong, intelligent and driven but she is a women. That in itself is not a problem but in my mind, I needed more to fix that image. When the audio edition was released I realized that I had a chance to place a voice to the character which in turn gave me the nuances needed to finalize that image. I now have the complete picture of Andy Stackhouse and it is everything I was hoping for. She comes across to me now as a complete lead character with a vulnerable side that is quite appealing. She is exactly what I need to lead me through these books and my only complaint is that she is fictional... Get the audio book and start your journey with Andy, you wont regret it.

This was a very well written mystery. The narration was great. I look forward to reading more from this author.

So glad to read this origin story for Stackhouse! I enjoyed the narrator. I love Stackhouse’s personality and I love all the books about all these characters. You gotta read them all!!!

First Book in a Great Series

Excellent writing, good characters, one of my favorite authors. I have read all of these books and will now enjoy the audiobook version.

Depth of Characters...very well written!

This book reminds me of a Dick Tracy style who done it with twist and turns that you didn't see coming. I laughed, I cheered, even teared up! All the elements of a great book! Loved the local touches about Roanoke, Virginia too! Can't wait for the next one!
