Henshaw Tarley has been subdued, and New Valley is now all mine to develop!

My plans are clear. First, I need to secure alchemical ingredients for Cynthia, my resident alchemist, so we can start making and selling potions. Second, I must find a wand maker to broaden the range of items we offer in the shop. Then, there's the issue of that magical tattoo parlor I want to set up… For that, I will need someone to teach me the basics of tattooing so I can gain a rank or two and make full use of my new ability.

It seems I can't stay out of trouble long enough to make headway. I'm not even back from my trip to Rence when I'm thrown into some fairy lands and get stranded. I'll soon discover that the Giantskarl is not the only dungeon in my neck of the woods and that I will have to put everything on the line to get out of there in one piece.

But so is the life I chose, and I will do whatever it takes to build my Merchant Empire!

Politicking is the bane of life in some ways. It is freaking exhausting and yet so entertaining when done with flair. Artemis is a boss. He is cunning and innovative and he does it with sarcasm and an amazing wit. Even given his so called peasant status. I love this series and I love the characters. But mostly, I love the narration. This was very enjoyable and I loved.

I love Artemis!

too much sexual detail for my tastes. I ended up deleting the book. I did enjoy the rune in inclusion not a lot of books focus on that. I also liked the unique traps and other parts of the world.

interested continuation of the series.

The economy and politics are always good in this book, also the action and adventure. Im looking foward to the next one, this series is binge worthy.

By far the best book in the series so far!!

I think the author has gives good bones to the story line, but loses balance in some of the details, what, no one takes copper or silver in this village, the amount of money the character pays is unheard of, he has the main character, artimus, needing money, but pays a road bandit gold to stop vandalizing the area. crazy. I've gone through the first three books, but at some points I really need to push though the nonsense to get to the next plot. He aids in killing a dragon and in all the hoard he only gets back what he paid the dragon, he is suppose to be a merchant but his skills in bargaining needs more polish. This is why the story body needs more depth and consistency.

The economy of the town must be inflationary
