Publisher's Summary

Tormented by the fate she condemned her mother to, and by the lies she's forced to tell to cover it up, Adele scours Storm-ravaged New Orleans for the truth about her family's magical past. But every turn leads her back to the one person she's determined to forget: Niccolò Medici. Not even the multitude of enchanted locks on the attic door trapping Nicco within can break their connection.

Sensing Nicco calling to Adele, Isaac tries relentlessly to keep her from exploring paths too dark that would endanger them all. But a new threat is rising: the Medici's presence has attracted something else to New Orleans...an older enemy, one that will bring Isaac's haunted past to life, test the witches' friendships, and jeopardize Adele and Isaac's blossoming relationship.

In this spellbinding continuation of The Casquette Girls saga, Adele must draw on the past - from seventeenth-century Florence, a time bubbling with alchemy and fraternal betrayal - and sort history from fantasy if she is to have any chance of saving her mother, her coven, and her magic.

What a wonderful ride.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Romeo Catchers to be better than the print version?

I am a huge fan of audiobooks. If they have a great narrator you can feel as if you have been taken away to another place. This is how this book made me feel. Both of the narrators do a wonderful job.

Have you listened to any of Kate Rudd and P. J. Ochlan ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to Kate Rudd before. I think she is a great narrator. She was the narrator for the first book in this series and did a wonderful job with it as well. This was the first time I have had the pleasure of a P.J. Ochlan narration. I am going to have to see what other books he narrates.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

For me this would be a great book for a long road trip. So I could listen to it the whole time and never have to worry about finding a good radio station.

Any additional comments?

When I read or listen to a book I want to feel as though I have been taken away to where ever the book is. Alys Arden does that in both books in this series. She can create such a wonderful picture with here words. I could see the streets of New Orleans post-storm, and I could feel what the characters were feeling. I know that is the writing and the narration going so well together. Such a great follow-up to the first book and I need the third book asap.

Huge book hangover!

The Romeo Catchers is beautifully written and will have you hooked from the first words. Alys Arden has a gift for words and I always feel like I'm part of the story. Kate Rudd and P. J. Ochlan did an amazing job of bringing the story & characters to life.

I WANT More!

The narrators did a wonderful job bringing this book to life. I will anxiously await book number 3: The Cities of The Dead. I said that the narrators did a wonderful job. I should point out that Kate Rudd did an awesome reading book 1 as well.

Good story. Teenage angst.

Teenage angst could have been toned down. Way down. It really took away from the story which was actually really good. The male performer did a good job but really didn't fit the image. He sounded more like an angry wolverine than a teenage boy that he was supposed to be. The story was good though.

a probably good book ruined by one bad narrator

i loved the first book in the series, and kate rudd is amazing, but p. j. ochlan ruined this entire book for me. he makes deseree sound extremely snotty, mean, and unlikeable, and sound nothing like kate rudds portrayal of her. isaac sounds incredibly self centered and mean, and adele looses all her charm under his portrayal. all in all, what is likely a great book is ruined by a poor choice of narrator in p.j. ochlan.
