Publisher's summary

Chase stepped off a slaver's boat and into a strange land. Scared and alone, the young minotaur learned to be meek and subservient to survive.

But when a childhood scuffle goes wrong, Chase is thrust into a world he’s completely unprepared for—one under threat from monsters that come without warning. He will have to fight to protect his new family.

And the fallout of that fight will spread until it engulfs much more than just his family....

The Quantity of Desire is a bold new vision of what Fantasy can be…. Exhilarating and erudite…. I’ve never read anything like it.” (BDI Reviews)

Important concepts, but ...

I'm old and so probably not the intended audience. Still, in my opinion, the story is okay. I had potential. It might have been better, if it had been more developed. It has some large jumps in time that could have been handled better. Overall though, I liked the characters. They sounded authentic, like the writer possibly knew them?
The reader was very good, especially when doing characters' voices. But there were some technical issues. The sounds of breathing and static that I don't think we're intended. Still I think both the writer and reader should keep going. They have promise.

was cheesy but I loved it

I didn't expect it to be too in depth with the story line but it was so amazing for a fiction story that feels real, I enjoyed every word the narrator spoke from this book, I recommend it if u want something short but still captivating.

Problems ahead.

Poor recording quality detracts from an otherwise enjoyable story. Each chapter will start with static in the background. A few minutes into the chapter it go's away. The sound level will also fluctuate with a higher volume at the start of a chapter and lower towards the end. At times it also seems as if the pop filter was not in the correct position as the plosive sounds are more pronounced. I like the narrator and story, unfortunately it seems like the equipment was lacking.

Lovely

A lovely tale about found family, polyamorous druids, and learning to be yourself. The voice acting performance was stellar, but there's a few static issues here and there, but the performance itself makes up for those. I'm very interested in seeing what this writer does next.

Decent start, but ended up not finishing it

One thing first. As noted, there are audio quality issues. They are distracting, but not too bad at least.

I did start out rather liking the characters and dynamic, things seemed promising enough.
I found John's character rather enjoyable and Chase and his boyhood crush on his best friend felt quite relatable.

But as soon as he sets out, meeting new people, it drops off. The newly introduced characters neither really feel like real people nor seem to fit the tone of the sort of fantasy world it seems to be all too well.

A fantasy world should feel authentic and believable and this one seemed to devolve into something that felt more like a modern cartoon in terms of tone.

okay story

There are sections of white noise that take away from the story. I also go to fantasy to escape from the world
