His zeal carried him into battle. His faithfulness won him honor among his people. His humility led him into friendship with the man who would become king in his place. David was a man after God's own heart. But it was the courage and selflessness of his best friend that opened the door to David's rule. A man of honor and deep faith. Jonathan.

These books are so wonderfully done. Very entertaining narrator. Pleasing voice. Francine Rivers tells us wonderful stories. They are so well done it feels as though the reader/listener is tight there in the scenes.

Wonderful way to learn about the mighty men of the bible

The way Ms. Rivers described the characters and events in this story gives the readers hope that as God used common man and their flaws, there's hope that God can use anyone of us to accomplish His will.

Excellent

Francine Rivers does a fabulous job making Bible characters come to life and really making us feel like we are seeing the life of the character through their eyes. The only issue I had with the book is at the end when it appeared Jonathan died and went right to heaven. Biblically, when you die, you don’t go to heaven and your body is is buried in the ground until the second coming of Christ. Besides that though, it’s a good read

I really enjoyed this book
