Awesome! 👍🏻

Really really great stories and really made me think. I really never gave Bathsheba the time of day but now, Wow! Everyone should read these from 18 up.

I strongly suggest the book.

I strongly suggest the book. The narrator Winona has done a great job on the voices for each individual in the book. She has a wonderful voice that makes it a joy to listen to. The author has done her home work about the culture in the time each story would have taken place and it is written very well. What a well written and narrated book. You will enjoy it.

Entrancing Story, Compelling, Stirring Performance

I've never read the books, but only became introduced to Francine Rivers by this audio book. I am intrigued.
At first, I had concerns. There are savage reviews of this work on here; I was alarmed that such cold, heartless comments could have been written by people of faith! I listened to the sample and became confused- are these reviews about the same work? I was drawn in by the warm and friendly voice of the narrator, so I bought it.

Oh my, I was blown away! A story that I've known but never really thought much about: this beautiful narration brought me fully into the story from an angle I've never even dreamed- characters not only came to life, but the world in which they lived- each scene was played out with such description, such detail! I could close my eyes and just listen to the story living out through these very human people that encountered challenges that I can't comprehend, but now can somehow relate to. Wonderful.

The performance was fantastic! You could feel what the characters felt, she aptly phrased the story through emotion, pause, and intent. It didn't feel like someone was reading a story to me, I was listening to the story play out through such a stirring voice that I feel like I know these characters. Bravo to the narrator!

I'm hooked, simply hooked.

Don't listen to the naysayers on these reviews- I don't know what work they're referring to, but it simply cannot be this one.

Amazing story! Beautifully written and performed!

I have been a fan of Francine Rivers for many years and have quite the collection of her books. This was the first audiobook of hers that I have listened to and I am blown away by how amazing it is! The amount of description that Francine Rivers uses in her writing, paired with the brilliant performance of Winona Owen, made me get lost in these amazing stories. I don't understand why so many people are being so cruel in their reviews towards the narrator! She clearly showed passion and even though it may not have been the best performance I've ever heard in an audiobook (I listen to close to 100 a year!) she did a great job! I also did not hear any clearing of the throat so maybe there is an updated version that I have that others don't?? I highly recommend this book, if for anything, the amazing stories that you can clearly feel the Holy Spirit and God's hand was on the author while she wrote this. It brought to life stories from the Bible that I haven't ever thought of in the way that it is written and performed. Thank you Francine Rivers for this gift and thank you Winona Owen for doing a fine job. May God's love and truth be what is brought to each listener of this audiobook.

Oh, man!

I am a huge fan of Francine Rivers. Her books are beautifully written and encourage the reader to walk with the characters of her books.
The narration of this book is horrendous. The miss-pronunciation of words, audibly hearing the narrator clearing her throat, silly accents that come and go, the list is too great.
It saddens my heart that this beautifully written work wasn't given the due it deserves. I hope you can sit thru the cringing narration and listen the stories.
I am praying this will be redone by someone better in the near future. Oh, man!

good story, annoying narrator

The narrator can't pronounce "especially" properly (she says ex-specially). And in the story of Ruth she continually refers to Oprah instead of ORPAH. Oprah isn't a Bible name 🤦

Could not listen

The narrators voice sounded like a digital version the enunciation on the words is so distinct that it is distracting. I have no doubt the story is great but sometimes I just can’t tolerate the narrators.

Hugely Disappointed

Having just listened to Redeeming Love and Scarlet thread and being absolutely captivated, I was delighted to find the Lineage of Grace series has been condensed into one book for one credit.. Wonderful... But oh my I have returned it as the narration is dreadful; diction is shocking, barely any change in character voices, stilted and dull... such a shame, it could have been wonderful.

Great Book

I thoroughly enjoyed learning and reading this book. It often put a smile on my face and made me think and ponder. Even though it’s a fictional book but it’s teaching at the end of each chapter was scriptural. Even though it is fictional it had a lot of substance in it.

Brilliant stories but dissapointing performance.

This is the combined version of the books that are seperately recorded as well - which seems to be better performed from the samples. I wanted to use my credit on one and opted for it instead of using 5 credits for the individual books. It was an odd delivery, the narrator was at times akward and I lost the flow of the story quite often but it was bearable - the story was overpowering and I listened the whole way through. If you prefer a brilliant delivery though, go with the originals.
