His first task is to survive, but mere survival is the least of his concerns. The Zone he has landed on has been in a state of constant war for thousands of years, a tug of war between the Elven and Dwarven societies. A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. Only so far
Well Johnathan did a great job in this and it had its funny parts, The problem with this book is substance and moving forward with a adventure. This book is 90% dialog, most inner. Moving forward with the story? Not so much. Learning more about the world and how to get out? Not so much. Currently as I see it, and at the rate of a snail pace, getting back at the Space Elves is going to take about 100 books and that is being generous.

1st book is amazing, 2nd pretty good
Still funny and wild as the first. Wish there was more progress. 3 hours inside the book is covered in like 6 hours and kept getting more complicated and distracted. So go into it to enjoy the journey, not to see how they overcome anything because the victories usually roll them into greater danger and jadedness instead of feel goodness.

A really great second book
It's a great addition to the series, very funny and very entertaining. But the author still hasn't achieved the perfect ratio on what is funny ranting and what is ranting that inevitably turns into excruciating long run ons. I had to skip through quite a few times during those moments because it just wouldn't stop otherwise. Lol But besides that it really was a great and fun book to listen to.

Written as if in drug-induced fever dream
Regrettably, book 2 was not a pleasant listening experience. There were more than enough scatological references to keep 3 Boys Towns worth of kids snickering for days but wore thin after the first few times for me. The whole naked aspect with him and his companions, two of which were female, along with the predictable embarrassed arousals it caused him stopped being humorous after the first mention. Then the entire story plot was tiringly inane that I found myself fast-forwarding whole section to get the story somewhat back on track.

ok...so let's be real.
As biased as it gets, I LOVE the narrators work. His narration shows that he is having fun with it (the book) and trying to get everyone else to have fun as well.
Downside, the book is good, but not A1 steak good. There is a feeling that content was traded for fun, but not in a dumb way.
Without giving to much away, the book was a good sequel to the first book.

Brilliant
This is the second book in the series and now in my top 5 books of all time. This is likely because of the superb mixture of the author style and the rather inspired narration.
No, I do not in fact have any relation to the author nor was I paid in any way. I just think the book the s***.

Loved it!
I personally really like how humanity is presented. In all other system apocalypse books humans always suck but here it talks about how amazing humans can get and I like that a lot
