Publisher's Summary
Cameron McMurtrie is a man who doesn't like interference in his work. So when Kylie Hamilton, an Australian executive working for the international mining company Global Resources, is sent to South Africa to investigate a new site on the edge of the Kruger National Park, Cameron is less than welcoming.
But when a group of illegal miners - men with nothing to lose, led by a man intent on destroying Cameron - kidnap one of Global Resources' employees, Cameron is forced into action - and collaboration.
In such tense circumstances, Kylie and Cameron find that their mutual dislike evolves into solidarity, perhaps even something more. If they work together there is a chance they can save the kidnapped man.

Very bad pronunciations that were not at all in line with South African language use.

A good book spoilt by bad pronunciation
I wish they would use a narrator that can pronounce simple Southern African words. I winced and shouted out the correct pronunciation to myself every time...It does spoil the book unfortunately...

Mines!
Would you listen to The Prey again? Why?
This has been my least favorite of the authors books, not sure why the issue is an important one. It is about mining and a long time is spent underground......even thinking of it now makes me shudder. There is also a tedious amount of descriptive sex. No problem with the written word or listening on earphones, but a tad difficult out loud if you don't know who might walk into the room. The overall impression of the book is 'longwinded' I kept thinking 'get on with it'.
