Cajun? Maybe

The storyline shot off in a completely different direction than anticipated. While entertaining, it was really hard to listen to the Cajun accent butchered. Some words were down right comical.

Highly Improbable

Even though this book is better than Patterson’s recent output of quantity over quality short stories, the patchwork plot of this book has left little time to truly develop the characters. Placing the novel in the beautiful nation and culture of Japan is most noteworthy and is, in my opinion, what placed this novel from completely mediocre to intriguing.
If the plot was given a true chance to be developed it would gave been much better than the hit and run short story that in my opinion sadly is.
After reading this I was left with an empty feeling, as if I’d just awaken from an nightmare that had never happened.

It was just okay....

The first 75% of the book was veeeerrrrrryyyy slow but needed for the storyline. The 3rd part of the book was great & very fast paced. The ending was good & I truly enjoyed the narrater.

Different feel for a Patterson story

This book had a different tone from anything of his that I have read. It was engaging and a good story though. Well worth the read, or listen, if you consume books like I do these days.

poor narration

Unless I'm wrong and people from Louisianna really do talk like Elmer Fudd I found it took away from an average story.

Great Listen

The storyline was a bit slow at first, although a background needed for the rest of the book. It picked up and it is a great read/listen. Draws you in.

Poor narration

I have no idea what kind of accent or dialect the narrator was trying to pull off but it just sounds like a six year old with a lisp. Making ones R’s sound like W’s. Is not an character accent. You just sound like Elmer Fudd.

What a fun book!

Kevin stillwell puts on a terrific performance. The story was entertaining, I am glad I took a chance on this one.
